The time for removal of candidates have passed. PDP cannot make INEC Remove anyone's name

For sure the matter will have to go through court proceedings and they will lose the case in court. Their is no where in the world that you will force people to contest an election although I haven't seen that in the new electorial law but people could explain out of context. The law cannot say people don't have right not to withdraw. It will be madness to put that in the law.

After the expulsion, the party will write to INEC notifying the electoral body that it does not have any candidate for those positions, which will amount to removing the carpet under their feets.

I doubt if a political party can validly withdraw a candidate at this point of the electoral process. If I am correct, this is one of the precedent set by the Supreme Court in Amaechi vs Omehia case. Even recently, INEC made it clear that Akin Osuntokun remains the Ekiti south senatorial district candidate of ZLP and he cannot withdraw from the election.
