Most of these children are already spoiled from home due to parental neglect, the parents then pawn them off to boarding schools.

I went to an FGGC and I can tell you that if you don't put the right values in your children, these spoiled kids will influence them.

In 2003, I was in SS1, some girls from my set scaled fence to go party with their boyfriends. The cab man that took them from the fence to the club came back to report to the security at the gate, he then took them to the point at the fence where he picked them up. The house maters and mistresses were informed, principal was informed, house captains were informed.

Immediately, they started roll call house by house, room by room. That's how they found out the students who were missing.

All the prefects slept outside the hostel by hanging around the school waiting for them to come back. They came back on Sunday morning, they were allowed to scale the fence, the moment they entered like this, they were marched to the principal's house while their parents were called to come to school urgently on Monday morning.

By Monday morning, their parents were on the assembly ground when they marched them in with the skimpy clothes they had on. One of them that was influenced was just crying helplessly. Her mum jumped on her and started beating her.

Bottom line, they were sha expelled.

This one is good news.

In the school where I was teaching before now, this children will write a letter to you requesting you become their school father. The funny thing is that all the students writing these letters are the female students. We have many female teachers that could be their school mothers. I didn't understand the code until one of the corrupt male teachers told me what it's all about. The moral decadence in our secondary Schools is very high.

I taught briefly in a girls boarding school somewhere in Ogun State shortly after graduating and unable to find a job. I used to wait until after school to take practical class. The school will close and the student will go for siesta before returning to school. There is a demarcation between the school and the boarding House, so while the school went for sieta, there was usually a lull in the school side. One of those days while I was in the physics lab counting time and waiting for the students to return, behold one of the girls just appeared to me. I was shocked to see standing in front of me all alone the school is quiet, only me and her. I asked what are you doing here, she couldn't answer. I have to send her back to the boarding house immediately and told her whatever you have to ask, do so when the school returns from siesta.
I realised later that teachers do have crushes on these girls, it is understandable, they are in their teenage years when the hormones are hyperactive but it is never an excuse for anyone to take advantage of them. The problems we have is that many teachers are immoral and it is important that parents know the kind of characters they have around their kids.

Well said. But 2003 is a very long time. Things have practically changed with the smart phone and social media revolution in the last 3 - 5 years. Parents gift their kids iPhones of 250k and allow them to take it to secondary school even when they are not allowed by the school to do so. Only God will help us. Sex has been glorified by the media and celebrities. Nudity in the name of fashion has been exalted to the high heavens. What about pornography? What is happening now amongst secondary school students is terrible. The rotten ones from bad homes are negatively influencing the good ones. The kids raised by responsible parents now see their parents as too archaic and strict. In fact, it has become increasingly difficult to raise responsible children.

Day Schools are also having this problem. These kids just want to be bad and have sex at a early age. The girls are seductive and if you are not careful, you will fall between their thighs. Guys, no matter how spiritual you think you are, don't get too close to 12-15 year old secondary school girls of nowadays- A female will always be a female. You will fall before you know it. Keep them at a distance. Cheers.

Boarding schools should never be mixed, this was a bad idea. The risk of cross pollution is higher. But these secondary schools children are only practicing what they were taught in school, their teachers ought to be proud of them.

Hookup fees just got cheaper, this will drive those over priced expired hoes out of business.

Even the lagos pimpps will support this move.

The truth is a lot happened then, but what is amplifying happenings now is the social media.

The FGGC in my local government had students expelled and de bordered because of lesbianism and cultism. I know of a student then who the parents had to withdrew because she refused to join a cult group and they were hell bent on killing her.
I had secondary school mates then who were dating older people and even use to hear of those who did abortions so these things are not new.

The truth is the moral standard amongst parents is very low. If you stay in major cities and see the way parents dress out with their children, you begin to wonder what is actually going and where we are heading to. Those of us staying in Lekki will attest to this. Imagine a mother tattooing her body, wearing bump shots and going braless in the public. What are are these kinds of parents going to inculcate into their children?

We must return to God's standard if are ever going to get it right again. We are really in the last days as people don't have fear for God again. To fear God is to depart from sin and iniquity.

“The secrets and scandals that go on in boarding schools should not be heard by parents!“... I think it's the motto of the heads of departments in boarding schools. Is it sex? Drug abuse? Occultism? It's been going on for a long time.

There's an FGGC near where I live. For personal reasons, I won't disclose the location since this happens in almost all boarding schools.

Those minors no longer look like minors because of the forced maturity they forced themselves into.

Is education really respected anymore? I doubt, in the case of Nigeria..of course. The secondary school is now the most vulnerable! From my experiences while I was in the teaching sector, I think the best time to model a child is in secondary. Most teenage pregnancies happen in JSS3. JSS3? What's going on! And most times, the school doesn't “practically“ frown against it since of its management team are only interested in protecting the image of the school.

Day schools are no exceptions because I have worked in a school where even the director was notorious for having affairs with teachers and students. You need to see an environment where students tend to disrespect teachers because they feel they have an upper hand. Such spoilt brats!

I read the case of the Chris land girl and I wasn't surprised. I don't think any Nigerian teacher will be surprised. Even some management team advises you to “mind your business and job“ anyways.

They do so crazy things. They always have threesomes, foursomes, and group sex. Everyone living close know this because, most times, they are caught by people in the neighbourhood. Some are apprehended, while others are not. Some happen right inside the school! But guess what? The school is so determined to conceal their atrocities. It's no disrespect to state the obvious that (some of) their teachers also use them. They do, indeed. And you'll think they'd be disciplined severely by the school. Don't expect much.

And the rate of lesbianism is appalling. Some of these girls who sneak out at night end up in brothels...sex for money...and the majority of them run to their boyfriends like nymphs. Talk about boyfriends and you know I mean anyone ready to furnish their big lifestyles in school. Of course, most of them hustle to use the latest gadgets. If you are still using the iPhone 11 in the iPhone 14 world, you are in a different clique.

The alarming thing there is that youth corps members stationed there don finish these happy-to-be-used misguided teenagers.

I used to think that, most times, it's people who make advances to these little girls. Bit it's all untrue. These girls will gladly throw themselves at you for favors, marks, and all whatnot. Some are occultic...and if you don't recognize their physical advances, you become a threat.

You would want to remind me they have school guardians. Most of these guardians are only hyperactive when they are with you. After that, that's the end of discussion.

Should we talk about the immoral dressing? That will be for another day.

It's surprising to know but this isn't a university. It's a secondary school.

There's nothing new here. Anyone who's had the opportunity to work in any FGGC knows this.

In fact, what goes on there is worthy of consideration as a dissertation topic. Parents needs to know.

The FG really needs to look into this. And parents have a big role to play. Parents need to create time for their kids. Even most teachers I know in boarding schools don't send their kids to become boarders. Parental neglect is harmful.

We all should build society.

this is not the issue of day school or boarding school, the truth is the moral decadence in the society is on the high side and no one seems to care .Back in the day training child was more of a communal effort but now nobody cares .Just this December i was at a trade fair and i got to a stand where intimacy gadgets were being displayed and sold come on which responsible adult will do this .Also parents and guardians be very mindful of the discussions you have around these kids and young adults .You cant fail as a parent then you expect teacher to correct all the mistakes you have caused in that childs life .Imagine when the teacher does their own bit and the female child goes back home to find a Love Machine in her single mothers drawers .Self gratification is becoming something else in nigeria

Put your kids among them, you will understand what's happening. These kids spend little time with their parents and that's during the holidays. They are left unsupervised while in school where they are free to do what they like. How's parents responsible for that when kids will not even show any sign of waywardness anytime they are around their parents.

This is your experience as a student. I think that was then when it was very functional. My experience as a staff? They will not be punished inasmuch as the matter dies in the school. They'll be forgiven and expected to repent...since you don't flog them and the principal has the final say.

Wetin you dey yarn me?
Now, girls would have bribed the cab man. Or the cab man would have demanded a share...in kind or money. Those girls are rotten.

School wey principal dey advise make you collect your own now you dey here? School wey principal dey stupidly sleep with girls his granddaughter’s age? School wey abortion pills are plentier than sand? School wey teachers dey die mysteriously sometimes? School wey teens dey willingly write you letters or visit you feigning to assist you with chores while dressing provocatively? Oya discipline them and be counted as a white fowl.

It's just disgusting some pedophiles as teachers actually see it as an opportunity to take advantage of these girls puberty is playing on.

I thank God for the minority few—students and teachers—who have refused to indulge and stood firm. I just pray peer pressure and mistreatment from perverted teachers don't make them give in.

I don't normally blame the kids since they are misguided. Na the bastards patronising them!

Forget, you can't understand.

It's really a pity. I am a product of a Unity school. I remember reading the news of a sad evident that happened in my school some years back. The principal impregnated a student, he ended up marrying her.

My first job in Nigeria was lecturing in a private university and I can tell you that these privileged students were shockingly spoilt and would attack you for even trying to correct them.
Worse still, the female students HATED me for NOT sleeping with them in exchange for marks and I was referred to as wicked grin
I fear for the future of Nigeria

Put your kids among them, you will understand that what's happening. These kids spend little time with their parents and that's during the holidays. They are left unsupervised while in school where they are free to do what they like. How's parents responsible for that when kids will not even show any sign of waywardness anytime they are around their parents.
Don't be naive .. Most parents sees these signs, but they ignore them, most especially the mothers. Haven't you seen cases where a teacher will discipline a child for wrong doings, the parent will go to the school, where the child is ,to report the teacher or even withdraw the child from the school? Now,that's were it starts from..
Most schools no longer discipline these kids, because they are in for business.. Nobody wants to loose customers(students),so the schools pampers these kids. So as a parent,if you fail to discipline your kids or follow them up as it ought to be,then disaster and disgrace awaits you.. Dey there, dey justify rubbish
