People keep complaining about the government as if they are the only corrupt people in the country.

The average Nigerian citizen is extremely corrupt. The society is completely rotten from top to bottom.

Corruption pervades everywhere - in schools, offices, churches and places of religious worship etc.

You will do same if you were privileged to become a governor. We all corrupt in Nigeria!

Some of you are so ignorant. There is no VC that is an ASUU member in any university. Once they become VCs, they cease to be union members. Infact, in most cases, the two become sworn enemies. It is just like saying a factory MD is a member of workers union. Haba

They were ASUU members before they became VCs. In fact, my immediate past VC occasionally attended ASUU meetings while he was still VC. There is no need to deceive the public. The Nigerian university system is drenched in corruption. I wonder why this Government has refused to release the reports of visitation panels sent to all Federal universities. It's true that Government is not adequately funding the universities. However, the little funds made available to universities should not be embezzled and misappropriated.

No system/government will develop without accountability, we blacks in sub-saharan Africa will design a system and deliberately include loopholes so that they can never be accountable...just give an African money in this region come back after 1year and ask how he spent the money he/she immediately gets angry...we just don't like it it's innate...moral hazard everywhere, a professor for that matter, see NNPC for example with this fuel scarcity salaries, bonuses, even estacode will be paid to staff for almost doing nothing..all our smartness nah to bypass system left, right and center .

It happens everywhere . As long as the system is weak and corrupt. If the US operate on our laws, it will be more corrupt than we are.

How are many Nigerians abroad not breaking the laws abroad will gladly do so here?.

The government needs to fix the system and our laws first.

The AGF that stole billions will likely go free.

No be you and me go set am free, na the poor system set up by the government

Same people fighting for student welfare and using the hefty salaries of politicians as justification for lecture crippling strikes.
Is there any hope for this country?

You are right. Just that ASUU should not be responsible for the corruption of someone who is not their member. It becomes scapegoating. I absolutely agree that, their is corruption in these schools and as a matter of fact at all levels through out the country. This is also what I advocate for, government agencies responsible for tackling corruption should do their job properly. This arrest is commendable

Corruption is now walking in broad daylight in the country. Almost everyone in their little corners are involved in it. No wonder the country is a shithole! Sigh.

Everyone knows that it's impossible for any VC to commit fraud and embezzle the University's money without the active involvement and connivance of the Bursar...it's the bursary that knows where money's hiding....so to siphon it cannot happen without them
