Olowu, others for FMC Abeokuta's 30th anniversary lecture

The Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, will lead dignitaries to public lectures to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Federal Medical Centre (FMC) at Idi-Aba in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Billed to take place at the hospital's Telemedicine Hall, the first lecture is titled, "Prostate Cancer: The Horror of Aging" and would be delivered by a Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Prof. T.A. Badmus.

The second lecture on the other hand is titled "Kidney Failure: An Emerging Epidemic with Catastrophic Outcomes* is to be delivered by Prof. Fatiu Abiola Arogundade, a Honorary Consultant Physician/Nephrologist Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile- Ife.

A statement by the hospital's head of Public Relations and Information, Mr. Segun Orisajo, disclosed that the Olowu will serve as the Royal Father of the day while the centre's Medical Director, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu, is the Chief Host.

The anniversary organising sommittee has therefore enjoined health practitioners, students, market men and women and the general public to the 'town and gown ' lectures which promises to be educative and interactive.
