No sooner Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu empathised with the Nigerian people facing the dual crises of fuel and new Naira notes scarcity, than the opposition PDP and the Atiku camp issued a knee-jerk response, derailing from the issues, distorting Asiwaju’s statement and trying in vain, to create a wedge between our presidential candidate and President Muhammadu Buhari.

For the records, Asiwaju Tinubu during APC campaign rally at Abeokuta on Wednesday, in his statement, did not mention, blame or accuse President Muhammadu Buhari for the current challenges… in the country. Asiwaju Tinubu was only adverting government’s attention to the sabotage being carried out by some Fifth Columnists in the system, possibly working in cahoots with the PDP.

The CBN officials, including Governor Godwin Emefiele have said many times that enough new Naira notes have been supplied to the banks, yet our people complain that they have not been able to get the new notes.

In recent days, many ATMs are either not working or when working they are dispensing the old notes, just a few days to the January 31 deadline.

Similarly, Asiwaju Tinubu is aware of the salutary efforts by President Buhari to end the fuel queues, by chairing a 14-man panel. Yet the queues and agony continue.

For a presidential candidate, who cares about the suffering of our people, he has a duty to warn government that its efforts to make life better for Nigerians are being sabotaged on several fronts.

Our presidential candidate only re-echoed what is well known and acknowledged, even by President Buhari himself at different fora: That there are Fifth Columnists in and outside of government who often throw spanners in the works against good intentions and programmes of…… the government. How does an advisory genuinely made by Asiwaju Tinubu to protect and create goodwill for the government of his party become an attack? It can only be so in the jaundiced view of the PDP.

Exactly. Igbos, Pdp are the ones twisting it. Buhari is not behind why new Naira is scarce, but some people that have power over the CBN Gov..

What about fuel? Fuel people said there’s fuel in abundant, yet filling stations have been unable to buy fuel..

You can't but marvel at the sagacity and intellect of Tinubu.

Asiwaju controlled the narrative yesterday. "You're suffering fuel and naira scarcity because they don't want me to win the race." A very simple and sophisticated chess move.

"Even if there's no fuel, we will trek to cast our vote"

His move yesterday has a lot of meaning.

- he projected his importance and relevance by literally saying the cabals are making over 200m Nigerians suffer because of his ambition
- like you said, he's no coward
- he reaffirm his confidence
- he won more southerners to his corner (those with zero knowledge of Nigerian politics will say otherwise; there's something called pity vote)

What i'm anticipating will follow now and have already started is his friends in the northern hemisphere reechoing his sentiment. You will see a lot of them comment in the news starting today.

The cabals are left with two options, both further boosting the chances of Tinubu next month.

1. resolve the fuel and naira scarcity and the narrative becomes "Nigerians got relief because Asiwaju voiced out - he's relevant and the real deal" - that's what media will print out.

2. continue hoarding and it's "they're making us suffer because of tinubu"

I saw Atiku took the bait yesterday immediately Asiwaju made the comment. The mumu man and PDP didn't think well before playing their chess move.

As a patriotic and compassionate leader, Asiwaju Tinubu will not stomach seeing ordinary Nigerians being made to face excessive difficulties over mundane issues due to activities of petrol and currency hoarders.

Nice one. I so much believe Tinubu's handlers. They're strategic. If not for his outburst in same Ogun prior to the primaries, they would have changed it for him. With his recent outburst now, things would start going well.

Those who promised Atiku Presidency in the villa would fail as usual. They promised the likes of Amaechi, Osinbajo et al and failed. This wouldn't be different.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
