The people of Kano on Monday, shunned President Muhammadu Buhari who is on official visit to the state after it was initially postponed due to security reasons.

Heavy security presences can be seen on the routes the President is expected to follow.


The streets of Kano were deserted while business premises around the Federal Government Projects to be commissioned remain closed.


Security sources reliably informed Blazonnews that such business premises were forced to remain closed by the stern looking security men while the few people who came out to catch a glimpse where driven 500 metres away from project sites.

President Buhari who enjoyed cheers and fanfare welcoming any time in the state, avoided the roads after arriving Kano and flew by Helicopter from the airport straight to Dala Inland Dry Port project site and to the Emir’s Palace.

However, angry resident at Hotoro Quarters barricaded the road leading to one of the project site in the area with stones and inter-lock blocks, attacking some vehicles in the convoy.

The situation was however, brought under control after tear gas were fired by the police to disperse the crowd who were already burning tyres.


Earlier, there were some disturbing incidences between some of the stationed security men stationed at the Emir Palace and pupils from school which led to throwing stones at the security men.


This development, is however unconnected to what majority of people described as unprecedented hardship forced on the people by Buhari’s Government especially, the recent redesigned naira notes and the initial January 31 deadline issued by the CBN.

As at the time of filing this report, president Buhari is still in Kano and expected to have a break at the state government house for lunch.

Atiku won't be like Buhari? Atiku who would sell our national assets to himself and his cronies? May God forbid Atiku.

BTW, who in his right senses would wish Atiku on us after 8 years of a northerner? Like you don't care about the unity of the country or what? Have I said they ain't wise? Voting Atiku is a definition of wisdom? Are you ok? Why didn't they vote him in 2019? Why didn't they vote him in 2007? Why didn't they vote him during PDP's primaries in 2011 and APC's primaries in 2015? Kano people are indeed very wise and they know who to vote. Their wisdom made them vote Abiola in 1993 and they would repeat same next month.
