Whereas your desire to educate the general public is commendable, your choice of words "carelessly" is very offensive.

we don't have problem with them changing the money, they should just make the new ones available, many banks give just 2k to a costumer on the counter and their atm is not dispensing, they even give only dirty and rough 50 naira notes.

Yesterday case at the federal High Court, Abuja. About 5 political parties sued about 30 different offices and companies to ensure that the February 10th deadline is not extended.

In the pending supreme court case, only APC is suing federal government and CBN.

Why is APC weeping more than the bereaved?
Should we conclude that APC cannot win election on a neutral and fair playing level except they sort electorates?

Why is APC the only political party seeking extension while other political parties are against further extension?

Let us have a deep thought, NIGERIANS!

Any shift of the deadline without release of the new note will plunge people into more hardship.

We rejoiced last wekk when it was shifted only for this week's hardship to be more.

CBN will not return any old currency it has retrieved. People are careful of spending the new currency they have.

No one is depositing any money now. Bank solely rely on CBN supplies.

If they extend it, they cannot force CBN to push out new notes. I believe CBN is waiting to push the new notes out after the deadline.

That is my line of thought, I may be wrong

Let's hope for the best.
As much as you can do most of your payment through online transactions and leave the cash for highly essential items that demands cash

I agree with you.
There was no scarcity of naira a few days before the 31st deadline. It was because it was extended, that is why we are in this situation.

Sadistic OSU

The judgement placed a suspension until the determination of a suit before it.

If it takes 2 months or 10ys to conclude, your Emefile must accept old notes.

The deadline won't change. Neither CBN or the commercial banks was joined as parties to this suit. The 3 state governments simply took advantage of the fact that in matters purely between the state and the FG the supreme court can serve as a court of first and only instance. Joining CBN in the matter would immediately rob the supreme court of jurisdiction. Sadly, the attorney general cannot issue a binding order on the CBN governor, the CBN act didn't contemplate such and the interim order is simply an academic attempt at grandstanding. They're indeed forces determined to derail the forthcoming elections and trigger social unrest. If your ATM card is working go to any large supermarket and stock up. The next 3 weeks are exciting times to come. I forgot to add that only CBN is empowered by law to determine what is termed legal tender. As for this set of JSCs, they've taken judicial rascality to the high heavens. One day soon we will put the searchlight on how supreme these odoriferous judges have become.

does that aboki obey court orders? Expect a firm statement from him and/or CBN on how Feb 10 remains the deadline. They will use legal rigmarole as they have always done to evade that court order. Discomfort or not, I'm happy to see them antagonising themselves. More bouts of confusion and burning hot coals be rained down into the camps of the PDAPC, I pray.

The order restrained the FG, NOT the CBN. CBN was not a party to the suit. The supreme court has no Power over the CBN

It is very important to know how the citizens are suffering.
If everything continues to remain as it is, there will be no elections this February.
Rather, we will be talking about how to make the streets becoming conducive again.
