they said or recirculate

so the CBN Governor has two options to chose from

jlinkd78:
Emefiele d CBN Governor bungled an otherwise good intention. I foretold this that Las las our old notes will coexist with d new notes d moment I observed people being given old notes over d counter inside d Banks while same time people are queueing to deposit old notes. Old notes remains legal tender

Its a win win for the govt & CBN. The people had hoped for a suspension or an extension. With this recommendation the CBN will go ahead with her policy by mopping up more and releasing the rest of the redesigned cash which in truth ain't enough. CBN should just tidy up today and release more redesigned into the economy and increase the withdrawal limit to 50k
That's what is causing the tension. The redesigned ones are not enough.P

Print more notes.

Meanwhile: Peter Obi vs. Tinubu
Here's a breakdown of what both candidates did as governors of their respective states.

1. Healthcare
Peter Obi
- Built heart surgery hospital in Onitsha
- Built College of medicine
- Built several healthcare centers
- Upgraded and licensed all school of nursing

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
- Didn't build a single hospital in 8 years
- Upgraded hospitals

2. Education
Peter Obi
- Took Anambra from number 25 in Waec to number one.
- Built and refurbished primary and secondary schools accross the state.
- Donated over 30,000 computers, printers and generators to all schools in Anambra.

Tinubu
- Upgraded and built modern schools.

3. Debt
Nigeria is in massive debt, so we need a president that can manage these debts.

Peter Obi
Didn't borrow one naira, paid Anambra state debts and saved over 75 billion naira.

Tinubu
Left a debt of over 100 billion naira for Fashola, even after increasing taxes in the state.

Vote Wisely
wow cool achievements by Obi but why are we still having Anambra people entering Lagos everyday for better life.

you are only commenting on what a biased slowpoke posted, the council of state back the CBN governor, check other news,

I have not read any biased comments and not interested in the outcome of the council of states meeting. The outcome of the meeting is predictable. It is just to provide a coverup for Buhari and may be to discuss personal matters such as allowances.

Buba Galadima a very powerful man in Abacha Regime and founding member of PDP who is still very powerful in Northern region politics said something few days ago. Many of us who know Buba Galadima over two decades ago know he is a man of few words and very blunt. He said ATIKU sent former Heads of States to beg Kwankwaso to collapse his Party and join Atiku but Kwankwaso refused. From that Statement, it can be seen that it is not just one former Head of States. IBB is out of Nigeria. Definitely, Obasanjo is among them and another former Head of State.

By now, they would have seen that Governance requires a man of high intellect, a man of foresight and insight. A great thinker that sees ahead. Atiku that sent former Heads of State to beg Kwankwaso and those former Heads of States who approached Kwankwaso and the Head of States looking for consensus candidate are in the same group and class. It shows Nigeria has never had a man of high intellect as President.

Buhari hid behind the Council of State to cover his saddening shame. There is no how the Supreme Court will not rule to allow the old and the new notes to be in circulation and as legal tenders, sine die. Then leaving the constitution behind in embarking on the project is a monumental and unpardonable error, because whatever you do in such a situation is an irreparable nullity. Go and study the combined charges arguments of the five states that took the matter to the Supreme Court, especially those brought by Kano and Ondo States. These are serious indictments against the competence of Malami as the AGF and unmistakable floodlight on the naivety, incapability and abject ignorance of president Buhari himself. The the greatest calamity of this Buhari's administration is Malami, grossly incompetent and obtuse dim-wit, as the AGF.

Okay good decision by state council cos Igbo people are suffering, hope this is not an insult on Igbo race...my man I don’t know why we always like heating the polity....I think the best usage should be “Nigerians are suffering” using Yoruba or Igbo instead of Nigerians is tribalism.

If you like interpret it your own way, but note these facts:

1. By 4 p.m. today, 10-Feb-23, the old Naira notes cease to be legal tender.
2. From 11-17 Feb 2023, those mischievous souls can still deposit BUT with only CBN & wt coffee wt efcc&ICPC.
3. CBN would circulate more notes but cautiously wt strict disbursement monitoring on banks because of people like Tinubu & APC & their greedy cronies in some banks
4. Buhari & CBN really desire free & fair elections NOT vote buying elections that Tinubu & APC had vn preparing for.
5. Nigerians should know that CBN & Buhari mean well, but scrupulous Tinubu & APC mean otherwise esp in connivance with some bankers. Money is supposed to be a medium of exchange of value NOT for some heartless politicians to hoard them at various places for evil purposes.

IBO, what is a win for CBN ? A disgraceful and shameful situation? People say old note remains a legal tender after today's deadline and it stands so. You are saying people expected suspension or extension. People never expected suspension but that old notes remain after February 10 and it stands. Why are you confusing yourself?

Tomorrow, on Monday till February 15, old notes remain legal tender.

if Emefiele were to be Yoruba, there would have been chaos, there would have been riots . The IBOs would have set Lagos on Fire. Over 400 of the 774 local government areas are located in rural areas and majority are petty traders and peasant farmers without accessibility to new currencies. You are putting their economic survival on February 10 (today) deadline. Is that feasible?
