How will the naira redesign stop Obi, Tinubu, Atiku or any other politician from vote buying ? I believe this project is going to negatively impact a lot of the Nigerian Masses and the economy. It also seems to have open lots and lots of opportunities for corruption. There is nothing wrong in implementing a cashless economy. However where a project is poorly implemented, it might not be possible to achieve most of the desired objectives.

CBN make mistake for printing the N200. They would have focus more on the 500 and much more of the 1000.

Naira has no value. A cup of ogbono is 1k. To cook a family soup is more than 10k. So the 200 make no sense.

Print more of 1000 and the old 200 should be use along send the 100.

The cost of printing 200 will be X5 for printing 1000.

The CBN has already absorbed over 1 trillion of the old notes. So the problem now is that there are no notes, both old and new. Hence, shifting the deadline for the spending of old notes does not solve the cash scarcity issue. I don't understand why some governors are fighting for extension instead of telling the CBN to make the new notes more available.
It's obvious they just want the old notes to still be valid by election day, so that vote sellers would not reject the notes they have stacked up in their homes.
However, it seems the CBN are short of new notes and they can't print it within days, hence they have no choice than recirculate the old notes, the failure is from them.

the bankers are hoarding new notes to change for politicians....that's why there seems to be shortage of new notes....Old notes in circulation have not been totally mopped up....there is is still about 500 to 600 billion that are neither with the central bank nor money deposit banks.....so who is keeping the money?
