Does CBN as a body take orders from the so called supreme court that supercedes?

But it was pdp under Jonathan Goodluck that hired Godwin Emefiele?

You people are damned in that country, keep looking for a scapegoat to blame.

Buhari reappointed him in 2019. Buhari had the opportunity to shop for a new CBN governor but decided to reappoint emefiele. So put the blame on buhari/APC

To the Educated one, please read below....

"IN THE INTERIM, the Federal Government of Nigeria and its agencies, including the CBN, are bound by the valid and subsisting ex parte order of the Supreme Court of Nigeria until it is set aside by the same court."

For more guidance, put this on your browser or Google : Does cbn take orders from supreme court of Nigeria

Lastly, Check the meaning of INTERIM and also INTERIM GOVERNMENT.

Come back and still educate/school me on this matter (Does cbn take orders from supreme court of Nigeria) but know I will not insult you like you have tagged me illiterate.

Also educate/remind me if we are now ruled by an INTERIM government already.

I am waiting to be educated by you.

Thanks in advance

See this mugu governor!

Instead, the banks won't open for business activities. U will go force them from their huz to open and collect old naira note.

You are even worse than an illiterate, you can read but lack the abilities to comprehend.
You quoted an order of the Supreme Court yet you lack the brain to understand a line of it. But asking me to go check the meaning of Interim Government. Where do you see Interim Government anywhere in the order?
An illiterate like you should first understand some simple words of English before coming out to argue to avoid embarrassing yourself.

Now, go back to your dictionary and look up the meaning of;
1. "in the interim"
2." valid"
2. "Bound by"
Then you would understand that the order is binding on the federal government and the CBN until the case is finally determined by the Supreme Court itself.

I am happy you are awake and still insultive

Synonyms for INTERIM below..

*temporary.
*provisional.
*transitional.
*short-term.
ad interim.
*alternate.
*provisionary.
*provisory.

The synonyms should educate you that the CBN doesn't answer to the supreme court rulings. Until the 15th or so for hearing of this their useless order then you will be more educated if the CBN really takes order from the supreme court.

Bye

You're an airheaded clown. I asked you to look up the phrase " in the interim". NOT " interim". You need to take your Jamb classes very seriously, it seems you run after boys than you read your books.
" The ruiling is binding on CBN until it is vacated".
When you get to your Jamb class, ask your teacher to educate you on the powers of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court supercedes, therefore the Governor is in order.

My entitled opinion, though am not a learned person.

The CBN was not joined in the sue. The court does not rule in a case not brought before it. Meanwhile, CBN as an independent body is empowered by 2007 Acts as Amended. See below section.

The CBN Act Section 2 (b) mandates the Central Bank of Nigeria to be the sole issuer of legal tender currency in Nigeria. The CBN regulates the volume of money supply in the economy in order to ensure monetary and price stability. The Currency Operations Department is responsible for currency management through the planning, procurement, distribution, processing, reissue and disposal of banknotes and coins. The currency structure comprises of three coin denominations (50k, ₦1, and ₦2), eight banknote denominations (₦5, ₦10, ₦20, ₦50, ₦100, ₦200, ₦500 and ₦1000) and Central Bank Digital Currency (eNaira). .

The state government been a second tier of government, has no say in matters in exclusive list as per the 1999 constitution as amended. "Even the FGN can not issue directives to the CBN if it does not want" except the CBN is amended giving the former to make pronouncements.

The governors are only tweaking on people emotion and for they selfish electioneering sympathy. That was the reason the governors that sue the FGN didn't not include the CBN, else case will come high court, appeal court to the Supreme Court.

Lol...if the Governor closes banks or all banks in his state for not collecting the old note please who will it affect most? Is still his people it will affect.

I don't know the fuss about this 2h, 5h, 1k thing. Banks are giving out coins, N5, N10, N20, N50, N100 notes..are these notes still not Nigerians money? Or they want the N5-N100 notes to go extinct? Nawa o.

He should close the banks and see who suffers it most which is obviously the people he governs. Common sense is not common.

An Independent body as CBN is supposed to take order from a compromised supreme court of injustice.

You jump high court, jump court of appeal and went straight to Supreme court and yet the court neglected it's operating procedure and gave an order. Stupid supreme court ko, supreme ice cream ni

Supreme Court entertaining the case between FGN vs State is in order. This is one and the only time such precedent is allowed by the law.

No it's the policies that Igbos think not Nigerians pls. All Nigerians are not stupid.Everybody knows it's only the Igbos that are happy with how Nigerians are suffering, same reason you are supporting Obi and imposing him on us despite knowing he is a calamity because to you it's a payback time to Nigerians.

This Naira policy has exposed your evil intention towards Nigerians and Nigerians can now see through your deception. This means God forbid if obi emerge president and brings out bad policies , you lots will support him so long as it is making Nigerians suffering and Nigerians dare not complainObi will fail woefully because of this.

For Tinubu to boldly speak against the evil policy and for the actions of some governors to ensure both old notes and new notes should continue to be a legal tender just to make life easier for them will melts their hearts. And those who still have the old naira notes( many Nigerians including keke riders bike men , market people, etc the only way for their money not to be a waste is to vote Tinubu because they know only Tinubu will extend the deadline for like 6months and ensure more notes are available in the bank.

IT IS ALSO A KNOWN FACT THAT YOU IGBOS ARE ALWAYS HAPPY WHENEVER NIGERIANS ARE SUFFERING OR IF THERE ARE BAD NEWS IN NIGERIA BUT FROWN WHENEVER THERE IS GOOD NEWS ABOUT NIGERIA. That's the level to which you hate Nigeria but God will never allow your Obi win
