The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, says a caregiver who was caught on camera assaulting a child in a creche has been arrested.
In a viral video, the caregiver could be seen beating the child for pooing on herself. The beating intensified when the child’s poo stained the caregiver’s dress.

Neighbours recorded the incident and shared the video online. Following the public outcry, the police went in search of the caregiver and arrested her. Confirming her arrest, Hundeyin in a tweet wrote

‘’She has been arrested. Crèche owners need to do better screening of their staff. People entrust their little lovelies to you.”

Working in such institutions is not for everyone. Children are naturally mischievous, messy, etc. Most times, this is overshadowed by the love we have for them. However, not everyone has the ability to extend this love beyond their immediate family members. Consequently, not every has what it takes to work in an institution where kids are taken care of. It's a vocation. It's not one of those jobs you do just because you need money. If that's the case, you'll wake up one day and start wondering if the money is worth the stress. And when that frustration sets in, you might end up taking it out on the kids.

What I am saying is, if you're going to hit a kid for pooing on herself, stay away from crèche/nursery schools.

You guys reactions to everything is to blame a demography you feel you don't belong to. Instead of you to call out the individual in question, you attack the gender or the tribe or the religion. This herd mentality is the number one problem in Africa and it's holding y'all down so bad. Imagine what could be said about men if we were to call out the gender for all the atrocities committed by men in Nigeria. You guys should be thinking a bit deeper.
