The relevant authorities should step in immediately to avert impending strike by the Union and some few employees.

The Federal Government Press is an agency of the government established to ensure Federal Government publications such as:
- official gazettes
- legal Books
- instrument of Appointment of Judges & Ambassadors on external postings,
- Agreement Papers between Nigeria and other foreign countries,
- Constitutions
- Ledger Books
- classified treasury Books,
- Laws of the federation,
- printing of coat of arms which is an exclusive preserve of FGP.
- statutory instruments etc

The Federal government Printer (Director) so appointed, unfortunately, has not been so proactive to manage optimally affairs of the Department. In most cases, his directives are undermined and disobeyed.

This apparent weakness is hijacked by the Union leader, Amira David in cahoots with his co-officers namely Olufemi, Hope Ogbuburu and Animadu.

At the moment, the Union wants to impose their own candidates to head various departments as replacements to those retiring soon from the Service. This is in defiance of Director's wishes and directives.

It's noteworthy that the Union led by Amira David is illegal and has no authority backing and acceptance, but it always forces itself to impose candidates of their choice on the Director. And whenever he disagrees, they instigate riots and mayhem. It happened early last year, and are planning same this year.

Ideally, admin officers are not supposed to stay beyond five years in any department, but these same people have been in Federal Government press for over ten years without posting , thereby using it to cause problems and disturbances.

The Federal Government should step in under the supervisory Ministry to checkmate the trouble makers and other lawless employees bent on causing trouble in the department.
