How much are the election day polling agents paid by the parties?

And how do the parties monitor the agents? What stops an agent from collecting fees from PDP, but working for APC or vice versa?

Finally, when are the polling agents paid, before election day or after election day?

Glad to hear from informed parties on this issue.

Location determines pay!

Only accredited polling agents will be able to do monitoring, so in cases where party agents have been bribed, you will notice all will go smooth without conflicts. It will be a union. Party executives won’t know what transpired, and that’s the bitter truth!

Once party agents sign that all went well, the rest is history!

Party agents are paid before Election Day. If you don’t feed fat enough before election, they will betray you. And even if you feed them fat, a bigger offer will sway them. After all, you will have no evidence against the’. You cannot be everywhere

Na wah!

Sounds like a land of no conscience.

If the agents are dishonorable and can be bribed, then perhaps there is no point in parties paying billions to hire unaccountable agents.

That was before. Results are transmitted through Bvas in the presence of all voters now. No agent can change result either at collation center or any where.

Can you share a range of the fees paid in various locations.

For example, how much would agents in Lagos make? In Rivers? In Kano? In Borno?

Then why are party’s registering agents?
BVAS or not, manipulations will happen and party agents will be in the loop.

And note, BVAS will not work in all polling units

Depends on what they up against. And also, individual bargaining power.

Is Keyamo right or just being duplicitous?

Are polling agents paid with Coke and Pepsi?

Polling agents are mobilised at least 24 hours before election day. Each Polling agent reports to a ward supervisor who reports to a LGA supervisor. Monitoring is via phone calls and WhatsApp channels.

Mobilisation covers transportation to polling unit, feeding, internet data and lodging (especially in rural areas). They might also need to pay for security in violence-prone areas.

We can compare with the money INEC paid to corps members in 2019 to have an idea.

Honoraria - ₦9,000
Feeding+Transport - ₦4,000
Total is ₦13,000
