Sorry to burst your bubble...pastors are no different! Their primary calling by God Almighty is to preach and save souls, build the church and prepare their members for heaven.

God didn't call them to take sides with any politician....Jesus Christ when he was on earth never did so...neither did the apostles of the early church....neither did the prophets of the old testament - Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, etc. This is despite the fact that there were existing governments at that time.

Go to your Bible and verify!

What pastors should do is
- to encourage their members to go out and vote their preferred candidates asking God for wisdom to choose the right candidate
- to encourage their members to vie for political positions by joining political parties

Many churches and pastors in Nigeria have certainly lost focus of God's calling and purpose for their existence!
