Because it's hard to use religion to separate yorubas. Most of my cousins are Muslims as our grandparents were Muslims. I give Christmas food to my Muslim neighbours and I also enjoy their Ileya mutton.

Besides, Many yorubas rate Tinubu higher than his competitors in terms of competence.

But having said this, many Yoruba youths still voted for LP. How else did you think Peter Obi saw so many votes in the west? Abi you think those were only ibo votes?

Moreover, in a three or four horse race with only one Christian on the ballot, the Christians have the number to get one of their own into power. However, it is apparent that most Yoruba Christians chose ethnicity over religion.
Apart from that, it is obvious that the governors and other influencial politicians from Christian dominated Southeast, Southsouth and parts of the Middlebelt regions who belong to the two main political parties chose personal interest over their tribal interest or religious consideration.

Religion division can never work in South west no matter how hard you try. We told Igbos to use another strategy because classifying yorubas as yoruba-muslim and yoruba-christian is just waste of time. You can see how Ekiti and Ondo that are heavily Christian states locked out obi and Atiku from even getting 25%. Tinubu knows his yoruba-christians very well that if he plays muslim-muslim card, it is the only way to penetrate north and wins Atiku.

He knows no matter what good he does to please igbo-christians, they will keep with their long term hatred. You can see how far hatred has knocked down obi in this race sooner than expected because he failed to build bridges and carry others along. You are ascertaining my posit and yet claimed that I am wrong, what a contradiction. Igbos planned coup, killed all northern leaders and Igbos in the north were jubilating…what a way to start a war.

What led the Igbos in making mouth on the street of norther states where they are minority…after their kinsmen killed their leaders in cold blood.
