Snart303: I never really thought about it this way. I guess you mustn't as you can decide to not fund the card. If it's that kinda of card. But yh, in a way you must. I feel like there's a way to pause your service tho. 1 Like |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 10:45am On Apr 27, 2023 |
Stanley08:This is how it works. If you're on residential plan, you must pay every month, regardless of using the service or not. Even if you're not actively using the service, your monthly bill will pile up, that's assuming you don't have enough funds on the card in your account to offset your monthly bill. At some point, which I am not sure how long, you'll be cut off. The only way to avoid paying monthly when not in use, is to cancel your subscription. In which case, you may not be able to get back on residential plan because your location may have reached its capacity. By the way, you can't pause residential plan, it's exclusive to roam. Right now, more than 95% of Abuja metropolitan have reached capacity. For those who know Abuja very well, the only available service areas are from Maitama > Kubwa > Bwari.... and then Lugbe > Kuje > Gwagwalada..... The whole of central Abuja have reached capacity, including Wuse, Garki, Apo, Gudu, Kaura, Galadimawa, even up to Nyanya. My own area, which is situated within Gudu district, has reached capacity. 2 Likes |

dustmalik:Thanks i am trying to fill the form to order for the starlink but am having problems with the shipping address. Each time i input my shipping address it tells me to INPUT A VALID SHIPPING ADDRESS.How do i solve this? |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 1:28pm On Apr 27, 2023 |
moodyguy:It's a new issue when ordering for Starlink. I recently encountered same challenge, but in my own case, I had already placed the order. Starlink customer service then sent me a message that the address I provided returned invalid error, and as a result, I have to provide a valid one. Mind you, I had used that same address to successfully place an order previously. I had to send another address to them. What you should do is to use a recognized address on Google maps, maybe your street name or a recognized street name close to your address on Google maps. It shouldn't be a long address, otherwise the system will tell you so. |

dustmalik:Would the package be delivered to that address? ..if yes how do i receive it |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 1:42pm On Apr 27, 2023 |
moodyguy:DHL will deliver to the address. Once your Starlink kit ships, update the tracking info with your phone number. That way, you will be called before delivery. |

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Bossman(m): 3:46pm On Apr 27, 2023 |
It's a monthly subscription service. So, you have to pay monthly whether you need/use it or not. The only other option is to cancel the service. That's how monthly subscriptions work. Snart303: |

Below is the message I got from Klasha If a new card is created for me, will I be able to update the details on my starlink account for future subscription debits by editing and saving my new card details? Has anyone been in this position before? Hi XXXX We are improving our Black Card to make it more seamless for your international transactions. To achieve this, we will terminate your Klasha Black Card and credit your funds into your Klasha wallet. During this upgrade, you won’t be able to create a new Black Card or complete transactions with your current Black Card online until the service is restored. The Pink Card is not affected by this upgrade, and it's still available for all your global transactions. Click here to fund your Pink Card. We are working on a replacement for the Black Card and will keep you updated on the progress of this resolution. We are truly sorry about any inconvenience this might cause you. Thanks, The Klasha Team 🖤

ask4bk: I ordered my Starlink on 29th and it’s set to be shipped in next 3days can I change my service address ? Because my area isn’t that much developed so I just used to closest landmark on the map as my service address and the distance is about 7-10houses away do I have to change my service address or it would work just fine when I setup my dish? |

Snart303:it should work fine if the area you are living at is within 15 miles from the address you put on the starlink website. You can also change address via the starlink app settings |

moodyguy: Cybercafes are still a thing? Hopefully Starlink doesn't notice it's being used for commercial purposes and do something. Because there are business plans too. Not only residential. |

Has anyone manually paid for their starlink monthly subscription? I am trying to manually do it rather than automatically wait. Their T&C says "A statement (invoice) will generate 7 days prior to the due date as a reminder for upcoming charges each month. Find the statement in your account and in your email. You can make an early payment manually in your account within this 7 day period prior to your due date" However when I log in to my account whether via the web or mobile app, and I click "Make A Payment" under the "Balance Due" section it keeps saying "Unable to make a payment". I am using my GTBank Dollar card which is also what I used to order for the Starlink hardware. I dont like leaving dollar in my GTBank Dollar Card Balance. So I was hoping manually paying would work. But it has not been working. Has anyone manually payed before. Or payment is only Autodebitted in Nigeria. |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by ibawon(m): 9:45pm On May 12, 2023 |
easyyoke:Unfortunately you can't. Even after they send you invoice, it would still take some days before they charge you. I was meant to be billed on the 4th but was charged today. |

easyyoke:I got the email as well. That's good news. Enough of this virtual dollar high exchange rate nonsense. The downside is more people will now buy starlink which may lead to network congestion in Nigeria

I got the mail too... Can't wait to see how much the monthly subscription will be in naira Will it remain N19,260? 1 Like |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Bonzojoko: 7:27am On May 31, 2023 |
georgee:I doubt that. It will be a miracle though. I am expecting something around 25k to 30k which is still cheaper than paying in dollars |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 8:46am On May 31, 2023 |
I just hope it doesn't go above 30k. This may also mean that Nigerians will then be able to purchase the Starlink kit itself using Verve card or Naira Mastercard, as with services like Amazon Prime Video. The kit may likely not be as expensive as it is today. |
