Go and read section 299 and stop fooling yourself.
So? Abuja is a state. Does Abuja functioning as a state change the requirement? Did it change its name from FCT?

As long as 299 did not overwrite 134, then 134 still stands. Abuja is a state and still the Federal Capital. lol.

FCT is considered a state.
The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; and accordingly -

(a) all the legislative powers, the executive powers and the judicial powers vested in the House of Assembly, the Governor of a State and in the courts of a State shall, respectively, vest in the National Assembly, the President of the Federation and in the courts which by virtue of the foregoing provisions are courts established for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja;

(b) all the powers referred to in paragraph (a) of this section shall be exercised in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution; and

(c) the provisions of this Constitution pertaining to the matters aforesaid shall be read with such modifications and adaptations as may be reasonably necessary to bring them into conformity with the provisions of this section

It didn't say Abuja has transformed from FCT into a state. It says Abuja will behave as if it's a state.

Let me highlight it : The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; and accordingly -

You see the clause? Na here lawyers take dey chop money. cc ihordspy

Hmm. How many times will i school you guys today?

You dont need to get 25% in FCT to be president. FCT is considered a state in the constitution. You just need to have 25% in 24 states, including FCT or not. Then get majority vote across the nation, then you are good to go.

Even going by the screenshot you posted, it shows you dont even know what is 25% of total vote cast. If LP is having 111k votes as the leader, then the second 61k with one LGA to go. it means the total vote cast is not much.

Children just full this forum, reason why i spend more of my time on twitter these days

Modified: Go and read section 299 of the Nigeria constitution which already recognise FCT as a state.

And section 134 of the constitution states that; a candidate will be declared winner of a presidential election if he has:

“(a) he has the majority of votes cast at the election; and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

So it means FCT is part of that 24 state required by the constitution to get your 25%, it is not a seperate entity, it is considered a state as stated by section 299.
Simple.
it's obvious that you have comprehension crisis....

24 states and the FCT...

with your analysis,if Abuja is a state, then having 25% in 24 state is not up to 2/3 of the states

They know 25% in FCT is a constitutional requirement that must be met before their candidate can be declared President Elect.

They had every other thing figured to sneak them into Aso Rock, but they didn’t see Abuja happening to them.

Miraculously they have configured 27% for themselves after 5 Area Councils.

But that’s where their confusion worsened, because the last Area Council is AMAC which is the biggest and where Obi swept over 80% of votes.

Waiting to see the Wonder the perform with the AMAC figures in other to get the mandatory 25% in the FCT.
Do you have AMAC results?

FCT is considered a state.

If FCT is considered a state then the phrase " Including the FCT " will be use instead of the phrase " and the FCT".

The word "and" makes the FCT an independent entity.

What is the difference between this two statement
1. he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

2. he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and THE Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Oga. This thing was straightened out by Femi falana himself. Go and sit down.

Unfortunately, Mr Falana is not a constitutional lawyer but a human rights lawyer, ask Olisa Agbakoba, he said the winner must score 25% votes in FCT, to be declared winner.
