Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom said he will study the results of the Benue Northwest senatorial election and respond appropriately. In a result announced by the Senatorial Collation Officer, Prof. Rufus Shaa’to in Makurdi, the state capital, Ortom, who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost the senatorial election to Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC. While Ortom polled 106,882 votes, Zam had 143,151 votes, Labour Party, LP, candidate, Mark Gbillah garnered 51,950 votes.
