PrinceMajestic: No he hasn't!... You can keep telling yourself that! He can be declared winner by a compromised electoral body, but it won't be free and fair! Buhari was elected by most Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides without this historic level of outcry! Let Tinubu be elected the same way, or in a better more transparent way since we are supposed to be improving not going backwards! Trust me... INEC is not doing APC and Tinubu any favors right now! They are setting them up to lead a restive and angry nation! |

Nairaland is dominated by tribalists majorly yorubas but the truth is we all have our preferred candidates. I'm from the middlebelt and I can AUTHORITATIVELY tell you that the figures coming from APC are false, from my observations they've been given the cutoff of 25% to cover up. I can swear with my life, most votes that won't go to LP should be for PDP cos d present govt have lost the people. I support PO because I believe in him than others. Even though LP wins, Seeing the little margins is just laughable. Past presidents are usually quiet on most electoral process but I stand with Obj. If Tinubu wins free n fair most of us will accept that. All we want is a free n credible elections, No int'l body has commended INEC for this so far it's criticism left, right and center. Buhari has failed us as a nation. Nigerians will forgive him if he gives good polls. Everything had attempted to move well (SMALL) but this results is not trustworthy. Seeing Dino in that centre made me smile n I said this guy may attempt to delay/derail the process, when he was ranting it felt as though they'd bundle him out but his points were valid. All the other agents should had boycotted it. INEC told Nigerians that bvas will ensure that results are transmitted immediately which DID NOT HAPPEN. BUHARI should for the UNITY n PROGRESS of this nation ensure he does the needful. Than for us to accept this, it is better they bomb this country let's all cease to ever exist. 1 Like 2 Shares |

The best and honorable thing to do now is, halt the announcement and audit the process from PU. The Irev portal isn't working as expected, 3days after election, less than 40% unconfirmed votes are being announced, workers or staff compromised. But the good news is, we can still salvage the situation... But after the announcement, it can't be salvaged anymore. This we now cause serious problem and various agitations across the country, in turn affecting our social economic life My earnest prayer is that, at the end of the day, NIGERIA wins We deserve a better NIGERIA |

this people are confused, the constitution empower INEC to determine how election results are transmitted, it was INEC that introduce RVP for the efficiency of their work. There is a marked difference between the transfer/transmission of results and the collation of results. Section 50(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022 gives the commission the absolute discretion to determine the mode and procedure of voting in an election and the transmission of election results. “Sections 60 and 62 of the Electoral Act govern post-election procedure and collation of election results. Section 60(1) of the Act provides that the presiding officer shall, after counting the votes at a polling unit, enter the votes scored by each candidate in a form to be prescribed by the commission Section 60(5) of the Act makes it mandatory that the presiding officer shall transfer the results, including total number of accredited voters and the results of the ballot in a manner prescribed by the commission. Thereafter, the presiding officer shall after recording and announcing the results deliver the same along with election materials under security and accompanied by the candidates or their polling agents, where available to such person as may be prescribed by the commission. “The implication of this is that the collation process of results is still essentially manual, but the collation officer must collate subject to his verification and confirmation that the number of accredited voters stated on the collated result are correct and consistent with the number of accredited voters recorded and transmitted directly from polling units.” The collation of results would “essentially” be done manually, where there was a (dispute) regarding a collated result or the result from any polling unit, the collation or returning officer would use the original of the disputed collated result, accreditation data from the BVAS device and the results transmitted directly from the polling unit to determine the correctness of the result. |

ExAngel007: If you are indeed the "constitutional lawyer" he claims to be, then he should know that stopping the collation and announcement of results at this time will lead to a constitutional snafu. Instead let the process play out and leverage the dispute resolution mechanism at the tribunal to seek redress. 2 Likes |

I am a Peter Obi supporter. This is INEC fault in over promising and under delivering technology . In fact it is the technical adviser/ company who promised the BVAS would work in Nigeria climate and condition. Your sample size was poor and technical support terrible. What were the limitations from manufacturer that accompanied the use of the bvAs ? Listen BvAs or no BvAs , it’s the us the people who are generally at fault. The human element. It was a human who torched polling units and disenfranchised few hundreds of people. It is us, the people kidnapping some INEC officials , arriving late at polling stations , uploading female photos instead of PU results .( which I have verified and is mind boggling ) That said, for the adopting technology for the first time under our climate and condition - we tried. Considering almost 177,000 PU across the nation and having issue in less than 1% . We CANNOT throwaway the baby with the bathing water. You address the irregularities at those PU stations. ( proven allegations that would affect the outcome of elections.) Instead of poisoning the populace with unproven allegations and rhetoric, gather your facts and open a court case. Remember, that at the end of the day we have to move forward as a nation. Life goes on. As we say , we move ! |
