What the law says in the constitution as well as in decided cases is that, joining all the 36 states together with Abuja, a candidate must in addition to having the highest number of votes, he much also have 25 percent spread altogether.

Falana got it right. What the law says is “….36 stars and the FCT” meaning all put together. There’s no way u would expect the drafters of the constitution to say “37 states”. The section isn’t isolating Abuja as a separate unit.

How some people think is simply unbelievable! You don't even need to be a lawyer to know that you don't need to win the FCT to be president.
