A Tourist visits Nigeria and plans on Visiting 24 States in Nigeria and the FCT.

Will the Tourist have completed his/her tour if he/she visited 23 States and the FCT or 24 or even 30 States without the FCT?

The FCT is clearly a priority place on the list of the tourist who intends to visit Abuja and any other of the 24 States in Nigeria.

The writers of the constitution made a mistake in wording. What they wrote meant one must have 25% in FCT. What they meant to write (which is common sense) is that FCT (though much smaller than a state) is to be considered equal to a state in the calculation.
Otherwise, if one must have 25% in FCT you'd produce a situation where a small group of people can hold the nation hostage simply by focusing all their resources in sewing up the FCT!

You are right...

In addition,

The FCT in the constitution is to be regarded as a state.

In terms of the election,

A candidate for the presidential race would be declared the winner if he/she has the majority votes and has at least 25% vote in 2/3 of the 36 states in Nigeria. + The FCT .

Note: The FCT was of importance here !

Now falana having said that 25% of FCT is not must...

Then the constitution would have been...

A candidate for the presidential race would be declared the winner if he/she has the majority votes and at least 25% vote in 2/3 of the 37 states in Nigeria.

So falana was wrong in the judgement.

Are you not reading this thread at all? According to the wording of the constitution he has not been elected because he did not get 25% in FCT.
They have to re-word the constitution for him to be declared elected

The constitution should have said:

A candidate for the presidential race would be declared the winner if he/she has the majority votes and at least 25% of the votes in 2/3 of the 37 states (With FCT counted as a state)

But then ⅔ of 37 is not a whole number!

But the constitution specifically mentioned FCT.

So even if Tinubu wins in 30 states and didn't get 25% in FCT he shouldn't be declared the winner.

You are right of course. It runs counter to common sense, but that's exactly the wording of the constitution
