🇷🇺 Russian President Vladimir Putin officially opened the 70-km Moscow metro’s Big Circle Line (BCL) on Wednesday via video link, the longest subway metro line in the world.

The metro line was constructed from 2011 to 2022. The first section of the BCL opened in 2018, and another 20-km section, which is the longest in the history of the capital's metro, was launched in December 2021.

The BCL has 31 stations, with 24 of those providing 47 interchanges to existing and future stations of the capital's metro.

Maksim Liksutov, deputy mayor of Moscow for transport, said that the BCL will serve as an impetus to the capital's development for decades to come, adding that it would help decrease the traffic flow on the city's highways by up to 15 percent, and would decongest metro lines by up to 25 percent.

Nigeria is certainly lagging behind and should be doing a lot better in.many areas.

But some of the countries people are quick to compare Nigeria with have more than 300-year headstart over Nigeria.

Comparison is good, but we also need to be realistic.

Today, the pace of change is so fast, and the first movers ie Western countries and now some Asian countries are so far ahead, I don't know how African countries will catch up. The world system, including globalisation, is also not in our favour.

Egypt is struggling badly. South Africa has not progressed much economically. Ghana is on its knees. Most African countries are basket cases.

These days, the more I look at the world in my private moments, the more I fear we may never catch up with the most successful/developed countries in the world.

Our systems and our minset as a people are far removed from what they need to be for us to develop, let alone catch up.

Our population is growing too fast, faster than our economy, which means the country can't even maintain the status quo in terms of standard of living, let alone improving it. Too many of our people are not being educated. Those who think they're educated did not receive the right education.

We have simply not set ourselves up to compete.

Makes me sweat when I think about all these things, as I desperately want the best for the tens of millions of struggling people who need and deserve better.

Guys they are many countries who are destroyed during 1950s and are way more developed than Nigeria.
Singapore ,South Korea,Japan, Germany and many more countries.
A country like India which is poorer than Nigeria in 2010 is now becoming one of the world leader.

we just need to change our thinking for us to move forward .

This is good and commendable, but make Putin put an end to the war in Ukraine with immediate effect.
There is no need for unnecessary killing of innocent souls.

People like you are the reasons why we have been subjected to extreme poverty, by our politicians.

At this pace at which we are developing, If Russia is to pause her development for 300 years, Nigeria will still not be able to match Russia.

Putin's approval rating by western polls (not Russian polls) is 76% while that of Biden is 41%. Then western media tells us that Putin is a dictator and Biden a Democrat.
Leadership is acceptance by the people being led, while Biden is sending Billions to Ukraine Putin is building bridges and critical infrastructure just like Late Gaddafi but to the west he is an evil man. We wish that Nigeria has such a loved dictator.
By the way what is the approval rating of Buhari?

Africa why? To us it can only be imagined. They budgeted billions to give us crap in the name of a rail lined and trains. Shey our leaders no de see these things if them go abroad. Our biggest mistake was allowing the white to leave before year 2000.

Nigeria is in the western (Anglo-Saxon) sphere of influence so we can only hear about the west. In Eastern Europe, the Baltic and parts of Asia, Russia is all they talk about.

In francophone countries in Africa, France is all they hear about.

God punish that angel that thought it'd be funny to send me to Nigeria. God punish him and his friends who concocted that joke. God also punish my ancestors millions of years ago, who didn't join their mates in the out of Africa exodus.
