30,000 naira per month( and very decent accommodation) with an NGO in 2004 . Lol

30,000 was worth a lot more than it is now almost 20 years after.

By end of 2006 I was on 166k per month working in advertising.

20k,and any day I didn't go work 5k deduction,I remember receiving 8k as salary ,my tfare was 7k for a month.-2022. God 🙏 has change my storyline.

In 1980 I earned 8 Naira a day working 8 to 5 at a sawmill in Ibadan. If I arrived at work and there were no trees to slice or electricity to slice it with my boss might sympathise and pay me 2 Naira for the day. I'd walk from Mokola to Alakia and save 20 kobo.

My first salary as a private school teacher in Abuja was 12k in 2006.

The school was close to where I was staying.

I didn't pay transport fare, no rent, no buying of food. Was putting up with an uncle.

I could do one or two things with it before my NYSC.

I left the job for my compulsory NYSC where we were given #9,700 allawee plus 5k at our PPA.

The experience was sweet tho!
