Why Labour Party Cannot Win Lagos Gubernatorial Election by nikky5(m): 12:02am On Mar 05, 2023
Lagos undoubtedly fell to the Labour party last Saturday Presidential election for very obvious reasons. Not all yorubas supported the presidential ambition Tinubu. Majority of the Yoruba Christians who formed the majority voted against him. It was not the Igbo votes alone that gave Peter Obi that feat
It was indeed a wake up call to the APC because it was unprecedented. So many igbos were chest beating that they defeated Tinubu in Lagos was laughable. This never affected his victory in any way.

Anyone thinking of a repeat of that victory come 11th March, 2023 during the governorship election must be hallucinating. It's never going to be possible.

First and foremost, Sanwolu is a christian and greatly loved in Lagos. The Muslims also enjoyed his style of leadership and the great work he is doing in Lagos infrastructure wise. He will surely enjoy our bloc votes cos we shall massively vote for him. This will help him to continue the projects that he initiated to the benefits of Lagosians. Lagosians cannot experiment with an unknown candidate.

Another reason the Labour Party cannot capture Lagos is that it's candidate has come to prove to the yorubas that he is a mixed blood. There's a video that has gone viral showing that Gbadebo is a supporter of IPOB. We see him as a full fledged Igbo man who may support IPOB operation in Lagos. Besides, he does not know Lagos neither can he speak the Yoruba language. In all, he is a green horn without any experience to lead a mega city like Lagos.

CAN and the Ndigbo in Lagos has promised Sanwolu their full support during the election. Sanwolu has been very friendly with the Igbo community in Lagos and allows them to do their business without any hindrances. So, why will Sanwolu fall on Saturday?

That an Igbo man will control Lagos is laughable. Yorubas, agrieved youths voted against Tinubu not a controlling population of foreigners. I am excited to see a day yoruba nation will be actualized. We want to see how a chukwudi will dictate the happenings in Lagos and will cut to size.

You don't speak for anyone except yourself. Labour Party did very well because it actually had a great coalition that included hundreds of thousands of Igbo and hundreds of thousands more Yoruba. Other ethnic nationalities in Lagos also voted for LP.

Lagos People that went to school with Asiwaju and knew him through his old azz under the bus which helped those Youths still under cultural alliances to break from them and vote LP.

Regarding the LP candidate he is not IPOB just like Sanwo Olu is not OPC. He posted on his belief in free speech and not killing youths anyhow, and that's one reason many youths today are still hailing his chances.

Don't try to twist and turn things. Buhari does not speak Yoruba and you fools voted him. Some of your governors children are also half Igbo.... so they cannot contest election?

Nonsense

Its not about Sanwo-Olu but bringing a new party that would be more transparent with Lagosians.

A party that will be more efficient with the judicious use of resources for genuine and sustainable development

One thing I will never understand about Yoruba's iz why they care about IPOB? IPOB wants to leave Nigeria, and they are not taking an inch of Yoruba land with them

There are Yoruba nation agitators seeking Oduduwa Republic, have ever seen any Igbo against them?

If Yorubas want to go, they are free to go, they will even find that most either dont care, or even support it

But as soon as an Igbo man says he wants to go, the reaction of many Yorubas becomes warlike, why?

Cant Yorubas do without Igbos? God knows I have never heard nor seen any Igbo who said he cant do without Yorubas

Sanwo olu is a gentleman man.But he is under the grip of tinubu.
When ex gov ambode got the support of majority of lagosians due to his good work, tinubu worked against his re-election.
So lagosians are not voting against sanwo-olu.They are voting against Lekki toll gates, agbero in Lagos,Iya oloja and all tinubu's dominance in Lagos politics.

The joy of the presidential elections is that IGBOS will have to hang Tinubu's pictures in all the important offices all over south east for 8 years after hanging Buhari's picture for 8 years.

That is 16 years of pure and undiluted sorrow of looking at the men they hate the most ruling them
