Earlier today, a Nairaland moderator opened a thread claiming Peter Obi won 19 states plus FCT in the last presidential election. The said moderator referenced a tweet by an Obidient Twitter user, NEFERTITI aka @Firstladyship as the source of the information. The thread was quickly moved to front page despite the source being a notorious fake news merchant on Twitter.

My appeal is to the owner and moderators of the forum. We just finished a very close, competitive and divisive election with the outcome still being contested in court. Don’t throw the country into chaos by helping to spread fake news. Those who saw the fake news of Obi winning 19 states and FCT will start abusing our judiciary if judgement is given against Peter Obi at the tribunal. Some may even resort to violence.
