Does the move make any sense?
Re: Obasanjo Begs Boko Haram Leader's Family For Forgiveness by Kolababa: 6:07pm On Sep 16, 2011
This is another hypocrisy by Obasanjo to portray himself being indispensable in Nigeria.
He, OBJ know that mediation can solve problem but he did not employ that before he invaded Odi town and levelled the place. He didn't even consider dialogue at all before he sent troops to Victor Malu village in Benue State.
OBJ has a hidden agenda here.

egift:

Two things that seems to work all the time in Nigeria are:
1. If you want to steal - Steal so big (Billions), so that anyone that hear it will just laugh, hail, respect and even be short of words, because he can't imagine what you want to do with all that.

2. If you want attention from government, blow up things - Ask MEND and Boko Boys
laugh out real hard at 'steal so much that people will laugh, hail and respect u, wondering what u need all that money for'.
Re: Obasanjo Begs Boko Haram Leader's Family For Forgiveness by chuxyn: 6:19pm On Sep 16, 2011
This is a situation that has escalated beyond the present government, and a man steps up to do something about it, yet some Nigerians are still criticizing. what about other fools at 70 that stole equally as much as OBJ and choice to relax in there fully fortified mansion enjoying the unfortunate terrorist attacks as it unfolds in 9ja, OBJ is not perfect, but this is a good step, lets pray it works so lives stop been wasted, God bless 9ja

Big B1:

OBJ"s move is not to protect anybody but the looters, the corrupt leaders. Because sooner or later they (corrupt leaders) would have been Boko Haram target.

Please do not be a fool, do not give OBJ or our weak government any credit for this move.
The corrupt leaders are the government, it is obvious that Boko Haram has issues with the government, Therefore, sooner or later Boko haram would have shifted their attention to targeting all the leaders that have stolen from us.

OBJ is simply protecting the interest of all the corrupt leaders and not an average Nigerian.
Hatitude:

The FBI, CIA and other UN investigators seem to be getting valuable information from these Boko chaps and this is OBJ's way of trying to warm his way into their hearts and trying to stop them talking.

Politicians, we know your tricks. YOU ARE ALL GOING DOWN!!!
sammirano:

OBJ is useless for what he did, If it had been him in presidency I know he will never do such things.
Kolababa:

sandee575:

OBJ the strategist. Having behaved so badly while exchanging words with IBB, the fox has cleverly laundered his image
before the people who chastized him on the grounds that he should be acting in a statesman role rather than thuggery.
i wonder why some people would never see anything good in OBJ no matter how good his intension is, PLS GIVE IT TO THIS OLD MAN FOR ONCE,HE IS NOT ALL THAT BAD.
Re: Obasanjo Begs Boko Haram Leader's Family For Forgiveness by BigB11(m): 6:29pm On Sep 16, 2011
There is nothing sad than when the entire group of blind men sleep and face the same direction.

This move is absolutely not a good move, the negative outcome is a long term. Just let us all wait and watch, may be Nigerians can learn one or two things from this mistake.
Nigeria is no longer a village, therefore it is important for us to wake up and do things accordingly, smartly and perfectly, while we continue to think of not just today, but also tomorrow.

This wuruwuru bushman move will only give Boko Haram the confidence and attention they've been seeking for for some time. It is more or less justifying their despicable actions. And the sad of all is other vicious groups out there who are ready to follow the same foot steps of the BH.

Yes, Nigerians mostly think of today with absolutely no sense of tomorrow, But let us wait a minute and try for a change to use our brain.
What OBJ has done would have worked 50 yrs ago, but in 2011 I'm sure that it will only sink us deeper into the red sea.

You don't have to believe me, Just wait and see the outcome of this move.

Re: Obasanjo Begs Boko Haram Leader's Family For Forgiveness by Nobody: 8:49pm On Sep 16, 2011
By continuing to make GEJ look ineffective, OBJ has ushered in the next phase of the Boko Haram project.

By going to beg these people who plan to overthrow the Nigerian government, OBJ has given credence to their cause, making them look like martyrs.

Moves such as this will continue to support the general belief that Yorubas are cowardly.

How do you tackle your enemy if you dont give any consideration to the source of his anger? OBJ well done jare! Lets pray and wish him well in his self appointed mission to save Nigeria from BH. Truth is he is known and respected in international circles as a good crisis manager even if we dont appreciate him here for other reasons. Cant even see why people are so blinded by personal hatred.

@ Haka nai
Na true you talk. We were part of the frontline states fighting for freedom in South Africa and Angola when he was military head of state ( still wondering why SA people hate us so much having gone to school with some of them who were sponsored by our govt and treated so nicely). Was told the struggle against apartheid was the reason Shell BP was nationalised (a la Indigenisation decree) along with some other foreign companies by OBJ then.
Re: Obasanjo Begs Boko Haram Leader's Family For Forgiveness by aloyemeka1: 10:04pm On Sep 16, 2011
Only in Nigeria can terrorists be begged to stop terrorizing. What is the army for?. Imagine US begging Al Qaeda to forgive and forget. What is Obasanjo begging them to forgive and forget?. Forgive and forget thousands they massacred in Jos lately or what?. I can't believe some retards are applauding this move.
It's like a thief robbed you clean, killed your parents and you visit him to ask for forgiveness?. Why can't we start begging armed robbers to forgive and forget then?

Has he considered the source of the anger of armed robbers who have been robbing Abeokuta lately?. So, we should start considering any bugger who has access to guns and machetes?. Has he considered the source of the anger of those who hack people to pieces in the north?. Tufikwa

I didn't expect u to get it.
Our backward state of mind and low level of thinking got us here in the first place, therefore, I can completely understand why many see nothing wrong with this low standard move. Time is the only thing that will tell.

Let's just wait and see.

OBJ is doing the right thing, the best way to tackle ur enemy is to befriend them, its done in Northern ireland and other countries with problems such as this , even

in Afghanistan, the caliban are now recognizing the way forward is getting into politics. OBJ is doing the right thing by been non confrontational. hopefully, the likes

of MEND and MOSSOP will follow suit.

At least this will bring shame to those sponsoring this evil group, if only that useless cowboy could have thot of this

In Nigeria, everything can be solved by begging.

I will soon send a begging party to PHCN, we need light for our area o. embarassed

Imagine American govt begging osama bin laden for forgiveness ? How do u think the family of the victims will feel about the move? How do u think osama and his boys will feel?
Nigeria has been turned into a lawless and uncivilized jungle; anything goes with zero regards for human beings in general. And we can not only blame the weak leaders, the f00lishness is obviously contagious; the leaders are not the only f00ls, the citizen are also stupi d.
This is why the equation has not be vigorously challenged for this long (leaders=f00ls / citizens=stupi d)

One thing is certain at the end of the day, OBJ wouldn't have made the move if Iyabo was one of the victims of Boko Haram.

We need to stand up, use our brain and challenge our lowlife weak leaders. Nigeria belongs to all of us.

Cool down, I  think it is a move in the right direction, for sure BK has been hijacked, what has Buhari, Atiku or IBB  done to pacify them?
I also don't condone what nor agree with the mayhem that BK has caused till date but also I know that we don't have the  machinery to tackle them so the best move is to 'befriend' them

BTW America didn't beg Osama and see what it has cost them!
