On Monday, Julius Malema and his political party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will attempt to shut down the country.

He is urging party members to protest in full force and without fear.

Some government leaders have warned that this will be an attempt to bring about anarchy and regime change through unconstitutional means.

While the main opposition, the Democratic Alliance (DA) has attempted to get the march halted at both the national level and in Cape Town, the red berets are calling for an end to load shedding and for president Cyril Ramaphosa to step down.

The EFF in its 10 years of existence has held several marches, but Monday’s one is expected to be different.

This is evident in how police and the South African National Defence Force have responded to the looming national shutdown.

But the party is standing firm insisting it will bring the country to a standstill.

Malema, during an address to party members in Soweto on Friday, issued this instruction:

“All the main roads, M1, M2 all of those roads… when they wake up, every bridge must be having a white banner that says President Cyril Ramaphosa must go because those are our bridges.”

Meanwhile, Malema is insisting theirs is a peaceful protest but he’s called on members to retaliate if provoked.

Kenya

Building tensions between Kenya's President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga is likely to lead to disruptions in its capital city Nairobi on Monday after the latter declared a planned protest march by his supporters “the mother of all protests.”

Raila Odinga, leader of the Azimio la Umoja party, had called for Monday's demonstration in Nairobi over soaring inflation, which in February reached 9.2% year-on-year in the East African nation.

Odinga also claims that 2022's tight presidential election was "stolen" from him, denouncing the government of President William Ruto as "illegitimate".

Nairobi police chief Adamson Bungei said on Sunday that police received requests to hold two demonstrations only late on Saturday and early on Sunday, when normally three days' notice is required for public rallies.

"For public safety, neither has been granted," he said at a press conference in the capital.

Organisers had planned to march near the State House, the presidential palace.

"I want to underline some areas such as State House where we have heard people planning to invade or visit is covered by the laws of Kenya that it is a restricted area for unauthorised persons," Bungei said.

But Odinga vowed that the gathering would go ahead.

"I want Kenyans to come out in large numbers and show the displeasure of what is happening in our country," he told his supporters Sunday.

Ruto for his part warned that "you are not going to threaten us with ultimatums and chaos and impunity."

"We will not allow that," he said, calling on Odinga to act in a "legal and constitutional manner."

According to official results from the August presidential vote, Odinga lost to Ruto by around 233,000 votes, one of the closest margins in the country's history.

Kenyan want to protest for inflation of 9.4%,
Nigeria inflation is 21.91% but nobody is talking.

South Africa want to protest for power cut,
Nigeria power problem can never be compared to South Africa own, nobody is talking.

All what we talk about is tribalism between Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.

Traditional rulers did better than civilization

Which traditional ruler governed anything close to what we know as modern states? Is there a traditional ruler that governed something called Nigeria or South Africa? Or were they governing small kingdoms?
