Infact, all the mainor and major transportation businesses littered in those area are owned by Igbo - GUO, GIGM, Chisco, Libmot/Libra, etc ๐๐๐ And I hope you watched the video๐๐๐ answer na... |

Mrnairalandd:
Everything you talked about was clearly understood but you seemed not to get my points and many Yorubasโ perspectives about the igbos getting involved in their politics. Let me use Peter Obi and UK as case studies.
In UK, even though it is an advanced country, and over 300years in existence, they understand the need to create a room for ethnicity cos itโs part of human existence. In animal kingdom, animals are naturally territorial even a year old child does want his friend closed to her/his mum. So UK and most European countries paved way for regions just like what is obtainable here in Nigeria.
In UK, they have Scotland- Igbos with Edinburgh(Enugu) as their capital, Wales(North) with Cardiff(Abuja) and England(Yorubas) with London(Lagos). Having lived in England for 50yrs as a Scottish man does change your place of Origin in UK, you are still a Scottish. Can you see how much UK has been able to avoid what is happening in Nigeria right now? There ll be a WAR if you as a Igbo man or Ijaw man want to tell a Yoruba man that an Ijaw or Igbo man is the right candidate for his state. UK could have lump everybody together without Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland if identity with politics are not delicate and sensitive issues.
The reason why there are a lot of tribal wars in Africa over the years is because cos of tribal issues. We are trying to be sophisticated about it but it wonโt work. If you ask me, i ll say we are playing with fire, it ll be a war eventually.
Here is another issue, wrong mentality, you talked about how you should be entitled to be a Lagosian by the virtue of being born and raised in Lagos for 15years. No i disagree! There are so many countries in the world that prevent you from being a citizen or indigenous to the land regardless how long you have lived there. We all came from somewhere and that somewhere should be our home.
Finally, you didnโt address one of the main point i raised in my last response to you which is, the Igbos need to stop throwing โBlock Votesโ to the Yorubas in South West. Individual igbo man should go and cast his vote without making it seems like the Igbos are competing with their host communities.
Our forefathers who fought for independence and federalism knew that we are different people. Only Nigeria state bounds us together nothing more. You canโt come from your Igboland to tell me your Igbo kinsman is the right person to govern me when there are thousands Yorubas that would do a better job. Just imagine this, letโs assume the Igbos wanted to vote for Peter Obi to be the Governor of Abia state but the Yorubas living in Abia decide to build a โBlock Votesโ purely based on their ethnicity-The Yorubas and begin to campaign for Ngige, naturally, as humans, they ll begin to get agitated just like you see the Igbos in presidential election.
The Igbos need to focus on their region politics if we are to avoid a civil war. And sadly, if Igbos continue to do what they are doing right now, it ll only lead to one thing; itโs war. And sadly, Igbos ll need to leave just like Pakistan left New Delhi for their own capital Islamabad, South Sudanese left Khartoum for Juba and many more. Remember, it got bad that the Oba had to call the Igbos in 2015โฆ There are many tribes in Yorubaland but none behaves like the Igbos.
Beating your chest as a fighter doesnโt mean nothing when the war finally comes. So letโs be real and speak the truth. Politics is like a religious topic, quite sensitive, we need to be careful when it comes to people land.

Mrnairalandd:
Letโs talk about this topic you have just addressed without prejudice. Can we? It baffles me when i see the Igbos addressing this sensitive issue with levity. Would Igbos have voted for an igbo man who had used derogatory names(Yamirin) to refer to his own people(The Igbos) in the past and his mother happens to be a Yoruba woma? Would you? You and i know that the Igbos we all know wonโt vote for such person. So why are Igbos trying to force this particular guy down d Yorubasโ throats? A typical case study here is Okorocha, the Igbos hate that guy cos his association with the North. The Igbos even refer to him as โEwuhausaโ cos his mom is an Hausa woman. Just imagine Okorocha referring to the Igbos as โYamirinโ, be honest, would the Igbos go ahead and vote for him? The answer ll surely be capital NO.
Finally, if Igbos are not hate-filled people like they say, why are Igbos always oppose the choices of their hosts-The Yorubas in their own land?
Why canโt Igbos work with their hosts-The Yorubas to pick the best candidate instead of going against their preferred candidates with โBlock Votesโ all the time. It was so bad that the Obas had to invite the Igbos in 2015 to threaten them. Canโt you see this is a provocation that ll eventually lead to war if we donโt call the Igbos to order.
Let me say this before i go, either Igbos like it or not, in eventuality of war, Igbos must go after the war as seen in Sudan and South Sudan case or Pakistan and India case too. UN charter says it all, Igbos ll need to leave if separation is the only way out. However, i believe if Igbos could look inward and tell themselves some truths and begin to respect the political views of their hosts communities, peace ll reign.
In UK or Europe, the white Europeans wonโt stand this Igbos attitude as far as politics is concerned. Let me use Sunak UK prime minister as an example. The conservatives delegates who are 98% white people didnโt want Sunak despite the fact he was born and raised in England and speaks fluent English. They decided to pick the lady before Sunak despite the fact that Sunak is more intelligent with track record than Liz Truss(White Brit). Eventually, do you know that Conservatives MPs had to force their way through and voted for Sunak. The MPs realised that the white british conservatives delegates wonโt vote for Sunak to lead themโฆ Nicely put. |
