If you ever have the opportunity to be invited by someone important (everyone is actually), maybe someone more classy than you, for a dinner (or eat out), here is a very timely piece of advice for you;

"When dining with a rich man, be on your guard and don’t stuff yourself, though it all tastes so good; for he is trying to bribe you, and no good is going to come of his invitation" - Proverbs 23 vs 1-3 TLB

This is so apt.

In fact, the manner you eat at a dinner invite will give your host a lot of impressions about you and could affect his or her decision towards you afterwards.

Remember this verse was written by a very wealthy king. So the mindset is the same for all wealthy people.

It may not necessary be to 'bribe' you based on other translations of this same verse, but it will definitely be to test you out on other parameters like intelligence, composure.

And this will determine how far you go with them. But it all starts from the dinner table.

In fact, never finish your food as a dinner guest.
