99% of shops and buildings in Alaba International market are built, owned and occupied by Igbos and they drafted their constitution to suite them. They trade in this market and pay tenancy rate to the Local government and due taxes to the State government. It is akin to an Hausa community or union in Port Harcourt and you expect a non Hausa to be an executive officer in such organization just for the reason that they are in River state.

These Igbo traders from different Igbo states that composed the bulk of traders in the market only zone and rotate officers and offices amongst themselves to avoid allegation or incidence of marginalization or non-inclusiveness.

Maybe the provision is as is to ensure no more than 40% of their executive officers are from Igbo states. If 80% of the traders/voters are Igbos perhaps they’ll almost always overwhelmingly elect Igbos as executive officers.

If the provision is to serve any other purpose then I don’t think it’s a good idea.
