Country of only 2million beating a country of over 200million with full compliment of all our stars. Very shameful.

&to make matters worse, we have over 60 minutes of playing time to score but failed woefully.
Abeg S/Eagles problem is beyond coach.

Don't be surprised that Bissau people currently have easy access to money in their bank accounts while 9ja don't. So football failure is just another symptom of systemic decline into the abyss.

I have long said that it is only to those who are serious that big population is a blessing.

200m led by mugus are 200m mugus. Irrespective of education, money or chest beating. QED.

Sacking Rohr remains a big mistake...

Not that he is also exceptional, but because those that managed Eagles after him are below him..

Our problem is that they dont play as a team. Yes, we have a crop of talented played, but they never gel as a team. Every player want to show the stuff they are made off. I think we need to start looking at home grown players for the super eagles. They would be more hungry compared to these guys that have established themselves. They are complaisant as a team and play with no iota of urgency. If you look very well, the only time that the super eagles have done well in the past were either they were majorly home based ( USA 94 ) or they were just starting to get established in European clubs ( Atlanta 96 ). The AFON triumph of 2003 was majorly because it was Stephen keshi that was the coach and quite a handful of home based were present in the team. Its just really pathetic how our football has degraded. But this Paseiro of a guy, is defintely not the way forward. He would just be like every other foreign coaches that have coached the eagles. He would just chop and clean mouth ( after been paid in dollars ) and japa. Am even not sure he would come close to Rohr's performance with the eagles ( now chickens )

Jose won't achieve anything with that team. The team is filled with terrorists

Super Eagles coach used to be hot cake were world class coaches apply and lobby for, but this one was imposed on us like inec is doing now.

What is his pedigree?

What result does he have?

What input have we seen in 7 games?

Just like the super falcons coach.... Randy Waldrop....

Taking our super falcons job on part time bases .....kai how low have we stoop down.
Worse off Waldrop have been loosing matches for fun. When we have our ex internationals who are even doing better abroad and known the garden better

His resume said it all. However, NFF still went ahead to hire a coach with no pedigree.

Once again the super eagles of Nigeria just lost a match not to one of the super powers in Africa like Ghana, Egypt, Senegal or Cameroon but to a lowly ranked team like Guinea-Bissau.

To make matters worse the team has the complement of all the top stars who are currently painting Europe with world class performance.

Needless to say the super eagles recently sacked Genot Rohr and after a brief spell with Eguaveon. The NFF hurriedly brought in Jose Pesiro as the new gaffer

But the question that has been on my mind is can Jose pesiro take the super eagles to the promised land?

This is because Nigeria's current problem is not about having the players because I can say, aside from the Golden Generation the class of 1994 to 1996. The players now are arguably the best Nigeria has ever had. But the problem is we need a good technically sound coach to blend this super stars.

Under Pesaro Nigeria has had the following result

Nigeria. 1. - 2 Algeria

Nigeria. 1 - 2 Mexico

Nigeria. 0-1 Ecuador

Nigeria. 0 - 2. Costa Rica

Nigeria 0 - 4. Portugal

And they have managed only two win against a team even Enyimba will trash

Nigeria vs Sierra Leone (2-1) and

Nigeria vs. Sao Tome and Principe (10-0).

And today Guinea-Bissau. Who we demolished few months ago at the AFCON came here in our backyard... Abuja to claim a famous victory beating us Nigeria. 0 - 1. Guinea-Bissau

If we go back memory lane on Jose Pesaro career we can say he is better than an Amunike

Jose Peseiro has a poor record as manager of national teams.

He was in charge for 17 games as the manager of Saudi Arabia, winning seven, drawing six, and losing four. That’s a win percentage of 35%.

He also failed to qualify the Arab nation for the 2010 World Cup.

For Venezuela, it was worse. One win in 10 games with six losses and three draws.

He was in charge during their disastrous 2021 Copa America outing which had the team eliminated from the group stage after two draws and two defeats.

He resigned in August 2021 over the non-payment of his salaries for a year.

I sincerely believe Nigeria deserves a better coach both at the super eagles and the super falcons level. We have all the materials ,( players ) but what we need is a good coach

I want to ask if NFA don't know about the records you posted above before employing him?

Jose Peseiro is not the man to take tje SuperEagles to the level we want. One thing that is obvious in that team is they lack tactical discipline. How long are we going play without creative mid-fielders? The defence also is nothing to write home about. I wonder what Moses Simon is still doing in that team. Even Chuckwueze was showboating . We need a Coach like Queiroz or Herve Renard. I am afraid this Coach will ne the worst.

How much time has he spent with the 1st team? Has he built a 2nd team? as backup?

I don't think u can build any team without time especially a team that lacks cohesion and game patterns, style or play to instructions like Nigeria.

it will take a very technical but flexible coach to make a difference in a short time.

You're talking rubbish. What does population have to do with anything?

Ethiopia are 100 million. China 2 billion. India 1.2 billion. But Equatorial Guinea, with a 1.5 million population, can beat everyone of those teams.

All over the world, when a team fails to perform, it is the COACH who is held responsible, not the players.

Nigeria cannot be different.

Whatever complaints you have about the team, it is the COACH who is PAID TOP DOLLAR to sort out those problems.

If he cannot do the job - and he has shown he is utterly useless - he should go, and go NOW.

You obviously don't understand the difference between these two statements:

Abeg S/Eagles problem is beyond coach.
&
Abeg S/Eagles problem is not coach.
Re: Super Eagles: Is Jose Peseiro The Man To Take Us To The Promised Land? by PerfectMan24: 12:26pm On Mar 25, 2023
The problem cannot be the coach.
With:
Jose = same result
Eguavor = same result
Roh = same result

And we have good players with international experiences. I think is spiritual, Nigeria cannot prosper under the watch of evil men.

A new Nigeria where everything work is possible.

With that guy in charge, Nigeria should forget about the Super Eagles making a mark in either regional, continental, or global football. We are as good as training materials for other countries before they go for a major tournament

"Predictably, my fears were confirmed when Gernot Rohr was sacked.

It begs the question: why do Nigerians continue to perceive Rohr as underperforming? If our reasoning is based on the belief that our local league players should feature more prominently, then we're failing to acknowledge the histories of other big-name African teams.

Have we forgotten the state of the Nigerian football team before Rohr's arrival?

In my estimation, Nigerians either suffer from short-term memory loss or are laboring under delusions. Comparing the current team to that of 1994 or even 2013 ignores the seismic changes in football in the interim. Local championships in Africa have become moribund, and players are often unwilling to exert themselves due to club commitments.

What truly defines Nigerian football is not merely our scores and performances on the pitch. The game is also affected by behind-the-scenes issues such as coaches' unpaid salaries, footballers paying bribes to get selected, tribalism, attempts to indoctrinate players into certain ideologies, and the search for talented players. Rohr's tenure helped to mitigate these issues to a large extent, yet Nigerians failed to acknowledge this progress. Instead, we focused exclusively on the flow of the game, even though we were regularly qualifying and playing well when it mattered."

I will still give him a chance.
We don’t have solid centre backs and defensive midfielders at the moment. Calvin Bassey was abysmal at CB against Guinea Bissau. Ndidi was below par. Our attacker just need time to gel.

Capital letter NO, I'm not a fan of Nigeria football, I support Brazil...

It is high time Nigeria should stop hiring foreign coaches just to embezzled fund, they should look inward, get their former ex international who are ready to work for Nigeria and train them and hire them, to manage the team...

All these foreign coaches, they are using it to embezzled fund...

Exactly

If you put Amunike achievement side by side with Jose Paseiro. You'll see that Pasiero is a complete quark

Amunike has won under 17 world cup, took Tanzania to AFCON, even coached in Egypt also recognized by FIFA as one of the best technical personnel in the world

But pesairo. Is CV is full of sack upon sack and yet somebody still brought him to us

The trend all over the world is for ex internationals to take over there national team

Why can't we do that
