The Akesin of Ora Ìgbómìnà, Oba Samuel Oladoye Idowu has lauded the NYSC Scheme for the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers programme which according to him, has impacted many lives and made good healthcare service available to the people in the rural areas.

Oba Samuel commended the Director General and management of the Scheme for putting the people first in her programmes.

"As we all know Health is wealth. We thank the NYSC for remembering the people in the rural areas who hardly have access to healthcare facilities.

" The people of Ora Ìgbómìnà appreciate the Director General and the NYSC family for bringing the HIRD train to us. We have looked forward to this day and are glad it is our turn to enjoy the free healthcare service offered by the Scheme through her corps médical personnel.

"I encourage our people to leverage on this and submit yourselves for proper check up. Listen to the NYSC team and follow their instructions". He said

The Ọba assured the NYSC team of his continued support for the Scheme. He described the people of the locality as loving and hospitable assuring the Management of the welfare and safety of corps members serving in the Ora Ìgbómìnà community. " your corps members are in good hands."

Flagging off the event, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab appreciated the people of Ora Ìgbómìnà for the warm reception accorded the team upon arrival. She made it know that the HIRD programme is an initiative of the NYSC which has helped to bring free healthcare to the people in the rural areas across the federation.

Abdulwahab informed the people that the Scheme through the programme has attended to millions of people and investigated several health cases thereby improving the quality of life of the beneficiaries.

The State Coordinator stated that the HIRD programme was designed to provide timely health intervention to the people in the rural areas who due to distance may hitherto not have access to quality healthcare.

"the HIRD is an innovation of the NYSC Director General aimed at reaching out to core rural areas to enhance the accessibility of healthcare services by rural Dwellers.

" the Scheme engages Corps médical personnel in the sensitisation on disease prevention, provision of first aid services, monitoring of cases and provision of appropriate referral when necessary", she said.

She assured that the Scheme's intervention agents are skilled and energetic Corps médical personnel who are on ground to attend to the teeming crowd who came to be attended to.

"the Director General of NYSC is passionate about the wellbeing not only of Corps members but also of the people in the communities where our Corps members serve, hence the committment of the Scheme to the well-being and quality of life of the people especially the rural dwellers".

She thereafter presented gifts to His Royal Majesty who showered royal blessings on the Scheme and her members.

Earlier, the Assistant Director Community Development Service, Mrs Taiwo Fatima in her welcome address intimated the people of the importance of the outreach and urged them to be orderly when the exercise begins.
She further implored them to take the health talk delivered by Corps doctor Akinniranye Happiness seriously, adhering to the tips given.

The programme which took place on Thursday at Ora Ìgbómìnà in Ifedayo LGA also had in attendance the Assistant Director Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Mr Aleshinloye Adeniyi; the Head of Planning Research and Statistics, Mrs Adenle Caroline; Chief Inspector, Corps Welfare and Health Services, Mr Lawal Kehinde; zonal inspectors, local government inspectors, among others.

The outreach attended to over 200 indigenes besides the Kabiyesi and Chiefs of the town.
