The Anambra Government on Tuesday said it had spent N6.9 billion on the ongoing Atani-Ozubulu road project.

The state governor, Peter Obi, disclosed this at the ground-breaking ceremony of the N8.5 billion Distell Beverages Plant at Ozubulu Industrial Estate in Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

Mr. Obi said that the amount already spent on the road project was part of the N12 billion cost of the contract, explaining that the road had three bridges.

He said that the road was intended to boost industrialisation in the state, adding that when completed, it would link Atani Industrial Harbour, near Onitsha, to the industrial estate in Ozubulu.

10years Later, Governor Soludo Flagged off same inaccessible, impassable Atani-Ozubulu road, marked for construction by his administration.

The road and four others were awarded in November 2022 by Soludo's administration, and the news was made public in a facebook post.

The Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo on Thursday flagged off construction of Atani- Ozubulu road.

The road which has a bridge is 11.37 kilometers has a completion period of 18 months.

Gov Soludo said that the flag off the road was fulfilment of the promise made to the people of the area during the campaigns for governorship election.

The governor who appreciated the people of the area for voting for him during the governorship election urged them to continue to support him the more by voting for all All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates.

Some of the APGA candidates in the 2023 general elections graced the occasion.

Peter Obi once said they spent N27bn at Nnewi on roads. I was at Nnewi then and I knew it was the WORST place in Anambra.

My memory of Peter Obi's tenure was that he was a fraud.

But he built Sabmiller close to Niger Bridge, donated laptops to Sec Schools and erected buildings in the State University ✔️


But for the rest, I see it as he was very cunny, self-centered and corporately zero (Company wise). He didn't save, he invested in his Fidelity to raise Capital.
