Political wisdom by Nigeria standard is about winning elections by whichever means and that's unfortunately is what kept Nigeria where she is today. Politicians and the elites are the only beneficiaries of the system living majority (95%) of Nigerians gasping for salvation.
Nigeria has the resources both human and natural that will transform the country to be one of the leading countries in the world but because of the shortcomings and limitations of the electoral process, bad leaders have continued to control the system of governance. The leadership has arrogated to themselves the power to recycle themselves in government that the masses barely have a say in how they are been governed. Politicians have usedthe instrument of religion and majorly ethnicity to perpetuate themselves in governance and the Nigerian masses have become the major tools in sustaining the unfortunate system.

Igbo people of the southeast have since 1993 had a different perspective when it comes to leadership. There voting pattern have continued to be about the best candidate. There collective votes go to the better or best candidate contesting. In 1993, Igbos massively voted Abiola who at that time believed to be the better candidate. Igbos again in 1999 massively voted Obasanjo and did again in 2003 against their very own Ojukwu who failed to get a reasonable votes even in his home state Anambra.
In 2007, Igbos massively voted for Yaradua and Jonathan in 2011 who respectively were the better candidates among those contesting. In 2015, Igbos again even with the shortcomings of the Jonathan's regime in the southeast he failed to cite any meaningful project still voted him because Igbos know a Jonathan's government would be better than Buhari's. Other regions shared their votes and Buhari emerged eventually and Nigeria was taken 100yrs back.

Now in 2023, Obi obviously remained the best candidate and Igbos again gave him their total votes but other regions ofcourse continued in their religious and ethnic considerations and sentiments.

If we can't follow the Igboman's selflessness and sacrifices, Nigerian masses will continue to live in hell in their own country.

Not just igbos knew Buhari was a disaster. Many of we progressives knew. Only RCCG as a body in the south were blind to this. Now, sadly, the narrative of the country is shifting towards full-scale Islamic state with the possibility of a presidential Muslim, vice as well as sentae president. If we don't have a Muslim vice senate president

Lol. Don't mind the deluded megalomaniacs . They will always present themselves as spotless and innocent Angels while all others are at fault. They just can't help themselves. It is their nature.

Learn what exactly? Prostitution? Baby factories? Substandard or fake goods? IPOB? Running away from home? Sit at home every Monday? Drug dealings? I don't understand... Or trying to steal and claim other people's territories? I don't get.

The truth is bitter 🌱

All your opinions here have no basis and also with some untruths. For example, Abiola did not win in the South East in 1993, and in 1999 went to Obasanjo because most Nigerians did not want anyone from the NADECO group as president. 2003 and 2007 were arguably rigged. 2011 victory for GEJ was to bring an outlier. Yorubas were massively looking for an outlier. The Igbos' stand so far has nothing to do with understanding what political leadership mean otherwise the whole of South East will be an El Dorado that we all want to relocate to by now.

By and large, like any Nigerians, the Igbos have a right to stake their political bet on candidates they believe in but there is no evidence that they know how to make a sound judgement on the matter than other Nigerians judging by the over 100 various election specimen in their enclave (from 1999 to 2019) and the result of those they voted into office compared to other geopolitical zones of the country.

So, let's stop encouraging the delusion of grandeur by those who have no result to make the assertions. All Nigerians have made a poor political judgement (mostly) to date and the Igbos' reality is in sync with the facts on ground.

One has to wonder if there is a single Igbo that thinks before talking. Their supreme wisdom fails them when it comes to choosing leaders for themselves in a la Igbo.

Yet they feel they are best at lecturing others about leadership of Nigeria at federal level and outside Igbo land.

You have to pick Lagos before you can pick any state in the east
You have to pick Rivers state before you can pick any state in the east.
You have to pick kano/ kaduna before you can pick any state in the east.
You have to pick Borno before you can pick any state in the east.

One begins to wonder, what is actually in the east that really worth emulating

Obi is not better than any other candidate. When he was the governor he was not better than his contemporaries. It was the same complaint.

Their brain needs to be studied... Used to think they are just mischievous people but realizing that what I've been seeing is a reflection of their thinking process breaks my heart... I used to like them a lot. I used to think they are smart but as it is now I can never argue with anyone from that side never... We can do online banter but to argue with someone that doesn't want to learn is something I washed my hands off of.
