Ghanaian Vendors Disrupt Nigerian Wig Seller's Trade Fair Over Cheap Prices

Some Ghanaian hair vendors disrupted a Nigerian wig seller's trade fair because the latter was selling her wares for cheaper prices.

In the video and photos that surfaced online on Monday, it was alleged that the group of Ghanaian vendors disrupted the "wig fair" organised by the Nigerian brand, known as Priceless Hairs."

A video shared on TikTok which showed the disruption was captioned, "Pricelesshairs wig fair wahala…MAKOLA wigs association don't want the sales to go on."

A picture shared on Priceless Hairs Instagram page showed several posters against the wig fair organised by the brand.

Some of the posters read, "Go back to your country", "No way for foreign retailers", "You can't crash Ghana," etc.

Reacting to the disruption, a statement from the brand read, "Don't worry please. Kindly leave the venue and stop every form of fight you guys are putting up against anybody.

"I and my team have left. Please go home. I will not crash the hair prices in Ghana for them, and that is well understood. I will communicate you all later. Thank you Ghana market women, una don win. One love, one Africa #nigeriamustgo."

That's international neck pressing grin

After tossing the opposition traders aside in every part of Nigeria, we are there in Africa to crash prices and take the profits home. Keep wailing, we're balling, my own family was part of this move, and the consumers in Ghana are still calling us to return with more cheaper wigs to save them from their Ghana brothers grin

You can wail sha.

Some people with their parochial mentality in business sha... 😅

If they are truly good in business, it would have been a perfect opportunity for them to buy all the Nigerian goods at a more cheaper price and then resale same to their fellow Ghanaians that they have been exploiting at exorbitant price... 😅

You are saying non citizens can organize a trade fair about a specific product without involving the locals?

What stopped them from making collaboration with the locals before organizing the trade fair?

Would the locals open their eyes and allowed non citizens to fall the price of wig in Ghana?

Make some of you people try to be considerate

If you insist on trading in a market traditionally hostile to you, on a personal level, then deal with whatever you encounter there.

This event happened last week in Ghana and it trended. Many Ghanaians were lambasting the women who protested and even encouraged the Nigerian to involve the police. They said the women have long been exploiting them not just in wig business...

The Ghanaians said the Nigerian went through all the processes for approval and she is a law abiding citizen who pays her dues.

Do you know that even the protesting women called out their celebrities like John Dumelo for sticking out for the Nigerian?

Did you see the traders complaining? They would be loading the next trucks to deliver their products anyhow, as long as its legal.

Ghana and Nigeria trade could be more than Benin and Togo that are more closer then.

But some Nigerians have abused the opportunity of trade business between the 2 country by selling at lower price compare to the price the locals are selling.

Are they same products? Yes but the cheaper ones are mostly fake.

The Ghanaian sellers issue is about spoiling the market price and also selling fake products.

Nigerians used to operate microfinance bank in Ghana until one guy operating from Circle disappeared with people's money including locals. They have stopped Nigerians from operating that. There are more other things we are no longer allowed to do cos we have abused the opportunity given to us.

I spent reasonable years in Ghana then so I know what the problem is

It's not about spoiling the market oga...

What is trade fair?

Is it not mostly to display wares which can be sold at cheaper rate? Which happens once in a while.

So I don't think the Nigerian selling it cheaper means the quality is inferior. Why are Ghanaians in support of the Nigerian against the market women, if her goods are inferior?
