It is the citizens' constitutional right to vote. To disenfranchise them is dictatorship.

A law for compulsory voting can be enacted, of which failing to vote in certain elections can attract a fine. This is done in certain European countries like Belgium.

The question is, did Mc Oluomo allow them to vote?

Useless people, they are not even thinking of probing INEC for gross mismanagement of 305 billion tax payers money.

Aufbauh:

You kids like rambling.
In as much as the call is unnecessary, it's equally unacceptable at this time & age for the country to be recording this abysmally low voters turnout.

Even with your candidate claim of voters suppression and intimidation in other places, his own home front that he got 98% votes was equally low in turnout.

Can I asked u a question.
If eventually Tinubu is sworn in,will u buy a bag of rice less than this guy u are attacking?

What of petrol, will they sell Gas so cheap to u cos u supported Tinubu

Stupidity is inborn in some people

Nonesense and foolish talk. So because someone did not vote in two previous elections means they won't vote or can't vote in later years?

Rubbish!

Honestly..
This had to be done.
So that we know the true “Living” voters.

Two election cycles are too short though..
Let them make it three..

Thus, in-between the three elections is a total of Eight Years of absolute electoral inactivity..
Thus, the person had been politically inexistent for MORE THAN eight complete years.

I know some older people couldn't vote because their polling units were far away from their homes. The distance was too much for them to walk.

Perhaps INEC could devote some time to reviewing such issues so that older people are not denied their right to vote.

This shows the kind of daft people we elect to represent us. The fact that I didn’t vote in2 election cycles does not mean I am dead, it could be that I did not find any of the candidates worthy of my vote. Unlike other countries like Australia, voting is compulsory is not compulsory in Nigeria.

Make una leave that register until after court case, is that the best they can do to rectify all the anomalies in the last election, instead of moving for full electronic voting, reps are asking for delisting, no wahala after court case they can delist everyone.

Gibberish talk. So if you are not available this election due to one reason or the other, does it mean you won’t be available for another election?

They sha want the registration process to remain open so that they can be doing wuruwuru with it

This means all NYSC members, all INEC ad-hoc staffs, Policemen, soldiers, 90% of customer care agents, Students who registered in and around school environments and had schools shut down during the election periods, offshore/transit workers etc will all be delisted abi?;
Instead of thinking of hour to expand the voting space you are trying to turn people off it, this type of submissions from NA members is the reason why we are where we are as a nation after 60+ years of independence.

Seems there is no link at this age...too bad if so.

Wise move. But they should be given option to send an sms for reactivation ,and not to pass through the rigours of ques again. This will clean up the register.

So you actually sees this suggestion as reasonable?
This is a very silly suggestion by those bunch of selfish fools.
Do you know that there are many people that tried to vote, the BVA denied them access.
They will see their names in the voters register.
They will log on to INEC portal and see their names and other details but BVA will pop up "data not found" if they try to do accreditation.
So such people's details should be deleted from the INEC register?

Secondly, do you realize that some did not vote cos of threat to their lives which no law enforcement agency was interested to intervene?

You do not think that ill health can also make one to to go out to vote.
You never think that there are so many conditions that can make one not to be able to vote.

I am surprised that even most of our youths keep buying any silly idea raised by those political frauds.

abstaining from voting is also a choice, if you force people to go and vote when they clearly do not have a preferred candidate they will simply go and cast void votes.

Doesn't make sense! I wasn't in Nigeria during the last election, does that mean I should be disenfranchised? Just send activation codes or connect government database in a way that all deaths are recorded and all dead people are subsequently delisted automatically! Only death should lead to disenfranchisement

Yes! You register next time. The guy is making sense. Voters card is not a decoration card

Somehow, I support this call...

What's the essence of occupying the voters register , if they won't vote in two election cycle

INEC logistics, including sensitive and non-sensitive voting materials are planned for based on the expected voting population in the register.

Huge number of unused ballot papers were destroyed across polling unit in the last election....shear wastage..

So, we are wasting money
