Arab Christians

Today there are 14 Million Christians in the Arab world descendants of those who did not convert to nor embrace Islam. Palestine is well known in the Bible and it is considered  the cradle of Christianity. There are several other Arab countries that capture portions of the Old and New Testaments passages namely Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Syria. After the advent of Islam Christianity disappeared completely in certain countries such as Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia and the Arabian peninsula.

Distribution of the Arab Christian Populations
Most of the Arab Christians who live in the Middle East are located in the following countries:

Lebanon (35-45 % of the population)

Palestine (5-10 %)

Jordan (6-12 %)

Syria (10 %)

Sudan (10 %)

Egypt (6-12 %)

Iraq (3 %).

Migration of Arab Christians

A lot of Arab Christians migrated from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Iraq to Europe, West Africa, the American continent and Australia. Christian emigration from the Middle East has increased because of political and economic hardship (from Lebanon since the 1975-1990 civil war, from the Israeli occupied Palestinian territories, from Iraq since the UN sanctions destroyed the economy) and because of Islamic fundamentalist pressure.

In total about 5-6 % of the Arab countries population are Christians. It is important to note that Arabs are not all Muslims and Muslims are not all Arabs. Some Christians who live in the Arab world refuse to be considered as "Arabs". They take pride in their heritage and trace their roots to their ancestors who inhabited the land before the appearance of Islam. For example, Lebanese Christians take pride in their ancient Phoenician roots. Egyptian Coptics trace their roots to the ancient Egyptians under the Pharaohs dynasties. So the Chaldeans and the Assyrians of Iraq who consider themselves to be the original inhabitants and dwellers of present day Iraq.

I'd also like to gently point out to you that some Arab and/or Arab-speaking Christians do indeed refer to God as Allah! I know in part because I have been in church services several times in North Africa where, while the services were in English, a spot was provided for Arab-speaking Christians to lead and teach the rest in song. We sang songs of course to the name of Yesu but also which referred to God as Allah.

So, I will say "softly, softly"!

We have to be careful in making this analysis otherwise there could be confusion among some newbies.

Fact is we do not worship the same GOD !!!

in places like lebanon,jordan,palestine and syrians,the people were "arabized" and the majority of them embraced islam.today those people identify themselves as "arabs" (but they are not arabians as the people of the arabian peninsula).they are linguistically arabs and not ethnically or racially.

before the advent of islam they were mostly christians.they later became muslims and the majority today have remained muslims.a minority still practice christianity.up to the 15th century people of those countries known as the Levant spoke aramaic,the language of Jesus from which both modern arabic and hebrew can trace their roots.

indeed those christians in the middle east have a christian heritage more than christians in europe,africa and elsewhere.this is true as the middle east is the cradle of christianity.in lebanon,for example,the majority of christians are represented by a former military general who heads a political party known as the Free Patriotic Movement.this man is allied with the Shia political party and resistance movement against israeli occupation known as Hezbollah.

the Maronite Christians as represented by General Michel Aoun have decided to ally themselves with their Shia Muslim brothers in Lebanon against israeli occupation,terrorism and the wahhabi ideology aka Takfirism and western imperialistic schemes.the reality in Lebanon is not different from that in Syria and Palestine.in Palestine where the christians are 25% of the population,they have equally suffered from the zionist occupation as their muslim brothers (mostly sunnis) alongside whom they have peacefully lived side by side for thousands of years.

these arab christians you are bragging about are mostly catholics and their sister church,orthodox.you consider them as pagans.so why are you bragging about them?

you are a confused soul.you're too weak and mentally corrupt to appreciate islam or understand anything about it even if you do not embrace it.

you cannot draw any conclusion on how those people are worshipping to determine what they are.those people infact are singing a song in praise of Jesus (as).(mind you i am learned in arabic and could even read what they are singing).just the way those christians are gathered and standing singing,you can also find similar videos on youtube muslims singing in praise of Muhammad (sa).

the fact remains that more than 95% of arab christians are either catholics or orthodox.and those you have declared as "pagans and idol worshippers".

in other words,i am telling you that you have started a thread in praise of "pagans and idol worshippers".
