This is a pleasant news. He has the capacity, competence and political will to hit the ground running with the view of rescuing and repositioning the dwindling most populous black nation on earth.

The report will continue to gather massive dust because of your insincerity and transparency.

Intelligent men do intelligent things, nice steps so far. Cutting cost of governance is crucial, most government institutions are just a chanel to waste public funds.

Merging government agencies is a welcome development if done strategically devoid of sentiments cos there are some federal agencies that are located only in some poweful states and the politicians there will definitely resist so they can continually benefit employment opportunities from those agencies.
But for me the biggest way to cut down cost of governance is to reduce bogus allowances to public office holders. We should run a Unicameral legislature and have just one minister per ministry. Same goes to the state level. The Number of appointees to elected or appointed officers should be constitutionally regulated as well as scrapping the office of the first lady or first man at all.levels. a lot needs to be done to reduce cost of governance than targeting civil servants relying on meagre salaries in the name of minimum wage.

My take

Merging the agencies and prastatals together is the best way to go cos some of them are just repetition of other agencies in terms of what they do

Sometimes you talk like a fool! What is wrong in what he said? These people are putting words in Tinibu's mouth when he hasn't said any. This is how said that Buhari will make the legislature a part time job and at the same reduce the number of legislatures from each...We are still waiting for him.

Re: Tinubu Considers Oronsaye Report, May Merge Govt Agencies by MetaPhysical: 7:22pm On May 07, 2023
There are many scenarios from which to draw hints on the direction Tinubu might go.

1. Tinubu, in his congratulatory message to newly coronated King Charles the III, highlighted one of the King's focused projects, Environment, Sustainability and Biodiversity.

2. Lagos State has completed a metro rail project first launched by Jakande but revived and funded by Tinubu and progressively midwifed by successors in the government house.

3. Lagos State in partnership with Oando are test running an electric bus project.

4. DAWN has kicked started a proposal phase to electrify South West and put all six states on the grid.

A summary of Tinubu's policy will look something like this -

A - introduce a culture of ESG into public and private sector. ESG stands for Environment, Social & Governance.

B - support EV, reduce environmental pollution from internal combustion engines. Support conversion when fleets reach End of Life, and replace with EV buses.

C - tap into infrastructure for electric dependent vehicles and build out charging points

D - provide dis-incentives for buying and operating gasoline vehicles.

E - use all of above to improve workforce, reduce unemployment, increase productivity, encourage redistribution of wealth and upscale national gdp.

I follow Tinubu closely and this man may not talk much, but he says enough with hints and clues to piece together and understand what he is working on. His letter to King Charles was very revealing, and DAWN announcement few weeks ago was also very telling on what's about to happen. It's not hard to see why removing oil subsidy is a good choice. Timing may be too early, but the goal itself is good for society overall.

Even President Muhammadu Buhari, who promised to cut the cost of governance, couldn’t do anything about it. But the incoming government is likely to take a critical look at the report. You know he (Tinubu) is an accountant and he knows how to manage resources, increase revenue, and so forth.

Initially, Buhari had good plans for Nigerians, but unfortunately, his health was challenged physically, Mentally, and Emotionally, his Fulani nephews, brothers, and uncles took over power and destroyed the country.
Tinubu has similar challenging health issues, naa only God go deliver Nigeria

Which of the government or its agencies are you giving this your advice to now because I can't remember you followed put any government in power especially Tinubu and Buhari? Or is this your advice for Obi online presidio and his ANAP/Bantupage failed agencies?
