Labour Party: INEC Publishes Names Of Candidates Who Emerged From Abure Faction by fergie001: 5:27am On May 13, 2023
The Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa factions of the Labour Party have been at loggerheads over who is the recognised National Chairman of the Party.

The power tussle snowballed into holding factional primaries to produce Candidates who will participate in the November 11 Governorship Elections holding in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo States.

Interestingly, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the names and particulars of Candidates produced by the mainstream Abure faction.

Whilst the Apapa-faction produced Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu in Imo State, INEC upheld Athan Nneji Achonu of the Abure faction.

In Kogi, factional primaries held at the Big Brother Hotel and KAFAS Multipurpose Hall separately where Col. Dr. Vincent Enemona Abu and Barr. Okeme Adejoh emerged from the Apapa and Abure factions respectively.

INEC published the name of Barr. Adejoh who emerged from the Abure faction as LP's Guber Candidate.

Bayelsa State wasn't any different as Chief Diekivie Ikiogha and the former IYC President, Udengs Eradiri held on to separate claims of been the Party flagbearer in the State.

Eradiri, who emerged from the Abure faction got the election umpire's nod as LP Candidate in the State.

With the publishing of particulars of Candidates yesterday, INEC has taken a position.

See INEC's position for Imo State here.

He will write INEC and correct abnormalities. Peace should be the most important thing to seek. Now, that you have raise this issue and to show proof of power, don't be surprised if Apapa reject them. His words are final till when another judgement is passed. LP will soon fade off if care is not taking

For the lunatics attacking me, why is the other faction appealing if there was no judgement in the first place?

May God heal you people and bless you with new sense. Read details here and stop feeding yourselves with lies.

The so-called elders who demand so much respect from young people destroyed this country and they keep destroying it before our very eyes.

At his age, instead of working hard to build a strong Labour Party that will challenge the status quo that hasn't taken Nigéria anywhere, Lamidi Apapa is busy creating factions in and ruining the efforts of Labour Party.

Nigeria has degenerated to the point where many people cannot continue to watch these evil men destroy it any further, and I hope his children don't become tomorrow's target for his senseless actions today.

I'm not sure Apapa-led faction will be really interested in all that past; especially if they have to show their results from previous presidential elections before Obi flew the flag🥲

LP should be careful, I hope INEC romancing the Abure faction isn't a booby trap for them.

After election na, court begin talk anoda tin.
They should sort things out properly before election,
Especially for Imo, where they have a very good chance to win.

It’s not just Apapa that is scoring zero, it’s Apapa and all those behind him like Tinubu, Uzodimma, Dapo Dagboru and APC/Tinubu Owambe boys.

There are processes to everything in life.

Osinbajo is the Vice President, and the next in line to the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; in fact, it’s his unopposed right.

But if by this evening Buhari can no longer be found, can Osinbajo just wake up and declare himself President because he’s next to Buhari? The answer is a big no.

Osinbajo must wait for some legal encumbrances, like the president not transmitting power to him while he was traveling, to be cleared first. In this case, the senate might have to invoke the Doctrine of Necessity like they did under Jonathan.

After that is done with, then Osinbajo must wait for the Chief Justice of the Federation to swear him in as President before he can now start laying claim to anything.

It is the same thing with this Labour Party leadership tussle.

After court asked Abure to step aside, the next thing to do would have been to call a NEC meeting of the party where the party will decide to either obey or disobey the ruling depending on their interpretation of the legal implication of the ruling.

Now, if they decide to obey the judgment, it is still NEC that would choose or rectify new leadership for the party pending the determination of the case in court.

But Apapa and co smokers thought they are in a Banana Republic where they can walk into an organization and declare themselves anything they like.

And to think that Tinubu boys are clapping him on is what is most cringeworthy.

But it won’t be long before Lamidi Apapa and his boys will go into oblivion never to be remembered again.

Ndi ala!
