We do expect humans to act civilized and be kind at appropriate times, however, not the case.

Humans on Earth are like animals in the jungle. Of course, belong to the same kingdom Animalia.
Once you start seeing humans from the lens of wildlife documentary you'll expect less.

If you're open-minded, you'll see your deficiencies and foibles, and their replication worldwide.
This revelation may cause your change, but not so for others. Here, religion and patriotism enter the scene to harangue national change for peace and cooperation.

Sermons and adherence to laws are in contrast with the human nature.
Human nature wants to explore different boundaries and get their desires sated even though it means trampling on the mild, young, and innocent. This same behavior is observable and quotidian in the wild.

So for sermons to be considered and made effective, eternal punishment and eternal reward come into play.
State security is placed on alert to curb crimes and put implacable criminals behind bars.
Punitive and applause are tools to get human cooperation.

But the problem is that once the seat of power, justice, and mercy is being overthrown and occupied by a vicious being, law and order becomes only applicable to the weak and poor. Those vicious beings at the top leverage their new position to act as wild beasts.

This phenomenon is glaring on Earth.
The extension of despotic and neurotic leadership leads to national chaos, breeds juvenile predators, and growth of tiny parasites, sycophants, and saboteurs.

There's a complete loss of faith. The people are always in a state of chagrin.
Truth is relegated to the backseat. Falsehood and vices are lauded.
The righteous man doubts his stance. The immoral man is prideful in his ways.
There's no order. No peace. There are only shows of pretense and suffering.

This is the way of the Earth. The operations of mankind.
You don't need to wail, dine, and die on the table of complaints.
Like endangered species in the wild, you must develop structures and behaviors to survive, make counterattacks, run fast, and scale through to the end.
