your brother bought a worldwide unlocked phone. the moment he restored it, he rendered it useless, at least pending when he can get someone to fix it(if it can ever be fixed)

Please, Engineers in the house.

My brother bought a Samsung Galaxy A31 from someone he knew.

He decided to do a factory reset so that he can use the phone as new. But immediately he flashed the phone, it stopped supporting network.

But the phone was previously working perfectly.

He can’t make or receive calls. He can’t send or receive message either. And he can’t use the internet. But the network provider where being displayed.

He said the engineers he gave told him that they will need to install a new software to bypass the security.

But I wonder that, it’s a phone available to Nigerians. And the first buyer bought it from Nigeria, so I don’t get why there will be an issue flashing the phone.

Is this a common issue with Samsung phones?
Just do a factory data reset from boot menu. Hold the power button and volume up button, follow the prompt and wipe. Everything will work perfectly after

Put inside coconut oil for 3 days

Remove it, clean it and switch on

Should solve the issue

Oil is not in your phones head

There are two reasons why this may have happenned.

Reason 1: Your has a very high chance of being altered!!! Your phone International Mobile Equipment Identity number has be compromised by some illegal individuals. Maybe from this country or other country. But must have something to do with crime.

Reason 2: Your device Mipi Failed (Which may be caused by software or charging port)

To confirm the above reasons, Dial this code on the samsung *#0011#. Choose any of the SIM Slot.

If you find this: IMEI Status: NG..... Then it is purely altered by some illegal fellows.

If IMEI Status: PASS or OK but MIPI Device: Failed...

Then, you need to work on the phone

Does it mean the IMEI can't be fixed if altered? I have a phone that has same problem after formatting.

You brought a usa network locked phone, the factory reset made it go back to default settings of been locked to the network,
Confirm which network the phone is locked to and is it the 5g model?
I know a guy selling what he calls half way unlocked and he was very honest with what he is selling, for every restart, you have to dial 16 zeros then it starts seeing Nigeria network again,so if yours is the 5g model, try to dial zero 16 times, and see if the truck works
Cheers

This is totally a very wrong information.

Can you see that IMEI status says NG?

With your result, Reason 1 applies to your case.

It can be fixed anyway
