"FOR Mrs. Ronke Adesoji, life couldn't have been better. She had just been delivered of a bouncing baby boy at a specialist hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State in 1992. Mother and son were healthy and doing fine, thus, she was discharged to go home on the third day after her delivery.

Being her third child, her mother and mother-in-law were not around to assist her to take care of her new born babe, so, when her neighbour, at her Foko residence, offered to help her give the baby his first bath, the 29-year-old did not think any big deal about it.

Her neighbour gave the baby boy a scrub with the traditional sponge provided by Mrs. Adesoji and after the bath, the baby's mother took the bath water and the sponge and threw them out unto the street, beside the house. But unknown to her, someone later went to pick the sponge. She did not however know who did.

All was well with mother and baby, who was christened Kayode, until he turned six months old. Going down memory lane, Mrs. Adesoji, who sells cooked rice, recollected that on the day her son's problem began, "I was at a vigil in a church at Oke-Ado area when, during the service, my son fainted three times.

After he was revived, he was given an injection and his right hand and leg began to shake. They shook for a whole hour after which the hand became stiff. As he grew up, that particular hand and leg became deformed as a result of the injection given.

" In spite of his situation, I enrolled Kayode at Abiola Primary School, Foko, but he was not brilliant. I had cause to change his school twice to private nursery schools and later to a special school for disabled pupils but the results were the same. The boy was not sound academically.

"I also took him to different churches, native doctors and hospitals but his situation failed to improve. A friend, however, introduced me to a Cherubim and Seraphim church, the Glorious Chapel International at Olawale Street, Imalefalafia and I went for the service with Kayode on Monday, 28 March, 2011, where we learnt that there would be another service on Wednesday.

"We were in the Shiloh service on Wednesday, 30 March, when the Shepherd in charge of the church, Prophet Remi Omoni, asked for who was bearing Kayode, I took him to the front and he said God told him that Kayode's problem was linked to the sponge used to bathe him at birth. He said the sponge was with someone who was using it for diabolical means and that that was what was affecting Kayode. He, however, insisted that the sponge must be retrieved.

"I was at a loss because I did not have an inkling as to where the sponge could be. The man of God later said, to my relieve, that God said that by the next Monday service, the sponge would be brought to the church by the woman who had it in her custody," explained the now 48-year-old mother of two sons, having lost her second child.

Taking over the true life story from Kayode's mother, Evangelist Wale Idowu, who assists the Shepherd, said he was in the church for the Sunday, 3rd April, service at about to 9a.m., when he was told that a woman was looking for the Shepherd and that the woman had come to the church twice before his arrival.

His words: "I wondered why the woman was looking for the Shepherd, so I went outside to attend to her. She confirmed that that was her third trip to the church that Sunday morning and that she wanted to give something, wrapped in a black celophene bag, to the Shepherd. I collected the parcel and the middle-aged woman, who wore iro and buba ankara and covered her head with a white 'hijab', left.

"The Shepherd came in not too long after and when I delivered the message to him, he said I should open the black nylon. Lo and behold, a native sponge, covered with cobweb, on top of which was a cowrie shell and a small gourd covered with the skin of an animal I do not know, were seen. There was a small hole on the side of the gourd and something blackish was dripping out of the gourd. We later discovered that what was dripping from the gourd was honey.

"By that time, about four members of the church had rushed outside to look for the woman, with each going in different direction, but alas! she was nowhere to be found. The sponge was used to bathe Kayode by his mother after the Prophet had prayed on it," he explained.

In his own reaction, Prophet Remi Omoni, said he heard the voice of God told him that the sponge, which was responsible for Kayode's predicament would be brought to the church by Monday and it was brought on Sunday. "That is God for you. He is a mystery and He works in a mysterious manner."

The man of God, a veterinary graduate of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, said he had never met Kayode or his mother before Wednesday, 30 March, when the Lord mentioned his case to him during the service.

He was, however, happy over the improvement in Kayode's physique and mannersim. "On Wednesday when God mentioned his case and I called him out, he could not walk to the altar by himself. His mother had to support him. Then, people did not want to sit beside him because he was behaving abnormally like a slowpoke. He laughed hysterically and we didn't hear what he said. But today, you can see for yourself that he walked to the altar by himself. He ate biscuit. He shook hands with me when I asked him to do so and he can speak audibly."

When asked how he came about his precise and concise manner of prophesying, Prophet Omoni, the only son and the second of his parents six children, said it was the grace and favour of God. According to him, his mother was a Muslim and an alhaja while his father is a born-again member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) but today, his mother is born-again and a member of his church.

The man of God said it was God who decided to use him along the white garment church line because "when I received the call, I attended the Redeemed Christian Church of God Bible School and the Immanuel College of Theology, Samonda, Ibadan for theological training.

In a chat with 19-year-old Kayode Adesoji, he disclosed to the Nigerian Tribune that he would like to furt like to her his education and not to learn a trade. Asked what he would like to study, medicine or law, the boy, who is visibly happy said "I want to be a lawyer.""

See how simple strategy devised by pastor is suddenly putting him in the papers. Why won't he do more?

the yorubas and their weird islam. how a believer becomes a disbeliever because of a miracle is beyond me.

didn't tyrannical pharaoh see Moses in his dream, as the destroyer of his kingdom, power?

didn't herold see Jesus in his dream as a king according to the bibles?

a miracle that occurred here in New York, even now is about a muslims in Brooklyn: Just months to this past Ramadhan, he was diagnosed with Lupus. His kidney failed and he was put on dialysis. Jihad is a young man still. barely 42 or so.

Yesterday, I was told that the doctor reported that his kidney is coming back to life.
We in Islam are grateful to Allah for His Subtle Mercy and Care for us.

We are not arrogant and we appreciate each of them.

^^^^^^^^ well since I am a yoruba muslim, hence my concern.

it is the yorubas who will say ono kon o wo oja.

they forget God has an established pattern, a way that is consistent, unchanging and not confusing
the yorubas are the christians; they shift the goal post as soon as they think the new idea is beneficial.

if God wanted to accept all types of religions He would not have sent human prophets to man with the same theme throughout the ages; God is One, Unique, undiluted, perfect and consistent.

if God had created Judaism, then for sure He would not create Christianity. If God had created Christianity, then for sure He would not have revealed Islam and said that all prophets were Muslims and perfected Islam as a favor to mankind on Muhammad [as], the seal of prophetic office.

Miracle, though is an indicator of guidance. But it is not the only indicator, but a part of the complexity of what makes perfect guidance; the Commandment of God.

Today, people have abandoned almost all other parts but focused exclusively on miracle, without realizing that being alive is a miracle on each living, and death is a miracle to remind us of our already established end. External miracles focused on therefore, is not exclusive to truth because even miracle in one form or another does happen in the community of disbelievers.

What leads many to abandon true faith is nothing other than despair/desperation.
