My friend, you are not making sense actually and the person correcting you is right. What happens to one finding a niche different from what’s already on ground? I’ve come to notice this particular thing about Nigerians (I don’t know much abt other African countries) the moment someone worked hard to discover a niche or business and even countries (for japa gangs) , everyone immediately moves to the business without taking their time to think outside the box. In the area where I live, almost everyone is now either a POS agent or hotel owner or a petrol station owner.
Some time last year, a street brother came to me to make enquiry about traveling to the UK and after a few minutes of discussions, he realized that the UK was not the only good country to immigrate to in Europe and the reason for this was because that’s what everyone around him was doing. I gave him a list of European countries that are doing well for themselves and he was surprised there were such countries he hadn’t heard of because no one is ready to research and think outside the box.
Again, why did the Indian chefs not try to take that woman’s shine away for 4 good years?
Cooking is not the only record to be broken plus it’s too early to try to useless her new record. Until Africans start thinking outside the box and coming up with innovative ideas, Africa will remain stagnant politically, technologically, economically, medically and in every other area of life.
The keynote here is FIND A UNIQUE NICHE AND BE CREATIVE! No be every time una go dey do competition

Very stupid, wrong-headed reasoning by Kanayo. Vying for a place in the Guinness book of records is not about being ‘considerate’ or ‘nice’ to the record holder. It is about smashing their record. No room for sentiments. If another African can cook for longer, THAT PERSON should be the record holder. It’s called meritocracy.

Kanayo should drop that IPOB /Obidient mentality of hating opposition and personal freedom. Same way they were abusing people who favoured any candidate other than Obi. This intolerance must stop. It will get you nowhere, and makes you look really stupid and backward.

Someone already did it before Hilda. How is it a new niche because Hilda did it? Why is it a sin for another person to do it after her?

I admire her tenacity, strength and business acumen. Aside from that, it’s just cooking that Iya Basira has been doing for 30 years since when she was 14 years old. She wakes up by 3am to start cooking in a more local and tedious kitchen. She cooks and serves to people till around 10pm with all the insults and little profit. She barely has up to 3 hours to sleep, then she wakes up by 3am again with the same routine. Be aware that we have thousands if not millions of Iya Basira across Nigeria.

But Nigerians instead of looking for someone who has the potential to invent something that will assist our daily living, we ignored it and started holding concerts for who is cooking rice and making eba. Haba!

Other people saw it as an easy way to cash out. What is required? Just be energetic, stand and cook for over 100hrs and boom! Governors and presidents will come and eat your rice. Endorsements and flight tickets to holiday destinations across the world.

Now tell me why most people won’t try to break the record?

It’s just an “easy” and a not too brain cracking competition. If it was an invention in aero dynamics, engineering or medicine, Nigerians go give chance asap!

And why didn’t Indians and Europeans try to break their sister’s record? Because it’s irrelevant to the general public. Such records only benefit just the per takers. Nothing more!

As for more beneficial competitions and inventions, Indians, Asians and Europeans are breaking their countrymen’s records on daily basis.

Africans are energetic creative and intelligent but the leaders refused to create an enabling environment for them to strive. So fvcking discouraging.
