Re: Tinubu Has Ordered Palliatives To Cushion Effects Of Subsidy Removal – Kyari by themanderon: 9:46am On Jun 02, 2023 |
This is their usual language. Palliatives like the ones they stored in warehouses during the covid era. How much will be spent on the palliatives and who will get them? How much will the palliatives cost compared with the subsidy you removed? Lets keep deceiving ourselves. I only blame Nigerians who have refused to take charge of their destinies. |

So the subsidy was removed cos they can no longer afford to pay anymore. They waited till it roped them before they decided to remove it. This shows that the country has no money. We need someone who will cut cost from all sectors to fix the country. Bulaba is not that kind of person cos he will not want anything that will affect his pay. He want a quick fix when their is no money for that. Give it to PO |

Good morning folks. On the 4th Day AS (After subsidy) how are you folks doing. Very pleasant here in Abuja. Roads are free of traffic. Everything has a benefit. Palliatives... Here they come again with their phantom promises to ghost recipients. |

Unfortunately, political and ethnic sentiments did not allow us to see the positive side of this same fuel subsidy removal in 2012, during Goodluck Jonathan's administration, we would have known our position by now. Ten years after, we're still battling with the same fuel subsidy removal. Hypocrisy is never good. Being in opposition party doesn't necessarily mean one should criticise or condemn every policy of the ruling party, try to see the bright side of it. |

It is a shame on government and the leadership that we are increasingly subsidising fuel att this time of our life.Very soon Nigerians themselves will be subsidised!Must the populace be involed all the time/cant government factor subsidy as a factor in governance instead of complaint and excuses? |

zeyt: Feudalism.... pure and simple. When you see hailers on this forum and in the greater society that have sold their conscience and lost every sense of objectivity remember the bleeding, featherless chicken that is fed corn drops. They have no choice. The best palliative on the other hand that a government can provide its people is a well run, productive economy where effort is rewarded with progress across board in an egalitarian manner. This is fundamentally not possible in this case simply because the structure of Nigeria does not lend itself to that. Mr. Tinubu should get his facts right. Nigeria is not Lagos. Three quarters of this country by geography and population is not productive. Unfortunately there is equal representation from that 75 percent in sharing the proceeds of the productive 25 percent and he will soon discover that the bulk of the support he has enjoyed are from folks not ready to be productive and will blackmail him into continuing the status quo of patronage, rent seeking and institutional mercantilism. The first signs are clear. The hasty rebuttal or denial of the currency devaluation or freedom of the naira from its hostage to those who want to live like kings without kingdoms. The ones who have stolen billions from subsidy but cannot be reached. Those are the people that will make or mar his administration. And make any dreams he has for a better country of little to no effect. 1 Like |

No palliatives can cushion removal of fuel subsidy. just fix the economy so prices of other commodities go down. |
