The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has urged the Federal Government to put in measures to stop the spate of killing across the country.

It would be recall that about sixty-two persons were killed in separate attacks in Sokoto and Zamfara on Saturday.

Stop behaving like a caveman. Tinubu will not/cannot end killings tomorrow. What will end killings permanently is thorough and holistic reform of the Army with specific focus on using intelligence and technology to defeat terror.

The police force should be decentralised asap also to make way for regional policing at the very least if State policing is unfeasible currently.

Adoption of DNA technology, to make profiling and 100% crime detection a possibility, must be a priority.

Border integrity, with non-negotiable and incorruptible database registration of visitors into Nigeria, possibly biometric based, must be deployed to combat incursion of foreign terrorist who, currently, find it easy to slip away like Ghosts after commiting atrocities in Nigeria.

State of emergency instruction must be announced to make it compulsory for any adult at all, foreigner or Nigerian, within our border to carry an acceptable form of ID for the next 2 years or so as part of a security sanitisation period.

So much more has to be done and introduced. Who, other than a child of 6 , will assume these are things that can pushed through in a week? I really think some of you should stop talking if you have nothing constructive or productive to say.

If you think the blood of 72 Nigerians is on the head of Tinubu after only a week in power , and given what his predecessor left as our status quo over 8 years, then I hope you don't have kids ever because Nigeria does not need any more in your image.

Even the most unreasonable of human beings should be able to accept that a few months is reasonable to give the new government to study the state of affairs and come up with a comprehensive security road map !!!
