You people don't understand, this subsidy issue.
This is how they do it.. All PMS are imported by NNPC.. Marketers buy from NNPC at certain rate. Subsidized by government.
So for now.. No marketer have been given license to import PMS.. They are still buying from NNPC at a rate without subsidy.
The issue marketer have now is something they are buying around 160naira from NNPC is now over 400naira so they Ned more money to buy.
So there's no way a marketer gain from subsidy directly.. Subsidy can only be stolen by NNPC. Which they've been doing.
The scanner is not Marketer it's NNPC

The Nigeria government subsidy PMS products bought by marketers from NNPC is been taken to neighbouring countries to sell at huge amount. The marketers makes huge money over the year from Nigeria government subsidies PMS products .

Typical Nigerian business men... They made so much fraudulent money through subsidy but didn't save more... They ate everything, bought houses overseas, big cars etc

Now they can't raise 5billion

Selling Petrol is supposed to be a private business.

They should do what other businesses do when the price of things go high.

Get a loan.

These marketers are shameless liars and only interested in their own selfish interest. They claim to buy a 33,000-litre tank for ₦21m or more. How much are they now discharging per litre at the filling station. Unintelligent liars.

from this story,if it is true, I think the Nigerian president is taking very good economic decisions and I hope he is aware that he must be strong to persevere.

I wish him all the luck and heavenly guidance.

Bros this excuse is quite lame. I support Tinubu's removal but he owes Jonathan GCFR and Nigerians at large an apology for the 2012 protest when he knew next to nothing about subsidy or chose to play politics with it.

Probably for the better. Petrol stations have become an all comers affair with independents cutting corners and reducing safety in the industry.

“Many depot owners would not be able to access funds because banks are skeptical of granting loans to the downstream sector,” a source added.

The pump price of petrol, which was between N179 and N200 per litre before subsidy removal, has skyrocketed to over N500 per litre after the President’s pronouncement.

Oyebanji told The PUNCH that many smaller firms in the downstream sector would be forced to shut down operations and may be bought over by bigger ones due to their inability to meet up with the huge financial obligations to secure new products from the NNPCL

Your beloved marketers are also struggling instead of getting the "investments" you touted will happen with the removal of subsidy
