I am an Engineer and I know Engineers take Engineering economy, project management and cost accounting in their years in the University but studying those subjects do not qualify them as Economists; they are engineers and those courses are to help them during Engineering projects cost estimation.

The CBN deals with monetary policy of Nigeria and we needs folks with sound economic background and international exposure working for institutions like the IMF.

The acting CBN governor does not have such resume. He handles day today operations concerning Branches, Banking services, currency operations, etc. These are areas that anyone with a written SOP and training can handle. In fact he should be the one to be arrested with Emefiele on the ill-fated Naira redesign as that remit falls under his office.

Dr. Obiora had a Economics B.Sc from Uniben, M.Sc and PhD from University of Ibadan. He also has wide ranging international experience working for IMF in very top positions.

He is currently responsible for monetary policy, Financial markets, Research, Trade and Exchange. These are the areas that Tinubu should focused on. I am sure with Dr. Obiora's knowledge and Tinubu appointing a sound economic team to manage the nation fiscal policy, the economy will bounce back.
