Part of the reason is that the vast majority of us are poor...so government relies more on oil money, which even on a good day is not enough, hence we take loans.

Sadly, we still have a lot of corrupt people so we lose even more money.

But the truth is, we do not pay enough tax. Our tax to gdp is one of the lowest in Africa.
