When will the political class tighten their own belts? They're still going around with long convoys and enjoying their fat pay. The gap is getting wider. The middle class is being downgraded to the lower class. The lower class is devastated.
May God guide our leaders and touch their hardened hearts to have mercy on the masses.

Nigerians are still consuming PMS bought at official rate of 460 Naira per dollar and complaining. Wait until PMS purchased with a devalued Naira of 760naira/USD hits the market.

Even if licenses are issued to 100 importers, Nigerians will buy PMS at 800naira+/ liter before end of august 2023. The global benchmark of gasoline prices (without subsidies) are already established.

And lest we forget
1. 7.5% VAT on diesel
2. Fuel subsidy removed
3. Electricity tariff hiked
4. University tuition increased to 400K+
5. Naira devalued
6. Same old politicians lined up to continue the looting
7. FG Votes ₦24 Billion For 10th NASS Members’ Accommodation

The Nigerian masses are in an impossible situation. There is a game by Tinubu to ensure the poor masses subsidize the political class.
The average lagosian earning 100K can only afford to eat if his work place is close to his residence ....... the situation is not mathematically and practically feasible.

Allow anyone import fuel if they meet the set out criteria open up the business let us all compete

But no they are always afraid of competition as an Igbo man competition is key to progress

The licence should not be given to any crook who will be bringing substandard fuel into Nigeria.

Only major oil marketers should be allowed.

We don't need useless Ibo man competition.

Naira strengthens and an imported product goes up in price. How is that possible?
You have not been reading. How did naira strengthen? Naira is now 752 to a dollar at cbn official rate. Parallel market price is now over 800 naira. Compare cbn rate of 752 to former cbn rate of 450 and tell me how the naira strengthen

In a free market the price of fuel changes every week. For ontario canada here it was around 1.58 dols per litre two weeks ago now currently 1.62. Entered 2 dols las year. As exchange rates and oil prices move petrol prices will be fluctuating in Nigeria. Expected

I think when Dangote refinery is operating at full capacity... The rate of FX on import id PMS will reduce hence the price might Reduce as well as creating both direct and indirect employment in tenth fold than direct importation

They won't do 'shingba' or think in that direction! Because they own the refinery abroad and even the one being celebrated here has the elements of their loots! So, how will they recoup their investment?!
This people aren't for the masses but serving themselves. If you noticed, what we have done so far is just implementing IMF agenda Buhari rejected. It not only petrol subsidy that is being removed but every form of subsidy!

HenryWilliams:
This is just clueless thinking..
We have abundance of CNG in Nigeria.
Let the FG start a hybrid system scheme.
Anyone interested in converting their cars to use PMS and CNG can sign up ..
Owner pays 75%
FG pays the rest.
It's doable and will reduce the demand on PMS and possibly the price as well.
This should have been done at least a year ago.

I like that statement "Ensure the poor masses subsidize the political class"!

That right there is what's afoot!

If they don't severely cut cost of governance and salaries of political appointees, then they are not ready for true progress!

Let's be sincere, is N30 profit a good ROI for N490 investment considering the cost of funds even though we know their profit is based on turnover? I continue to insist that we are not being told the true story of the whole fuel subsidy saga. This is purely my view undecided undecided undecided undecided

There should be 500 minimum importers of crude
Even if they allow all Nigerians to import fuel, the price will never be below 700naira per little.

Let's be realistic and concise in this..

Unless u r going to import adulterated products into the country like what happened last yr...
Re: Ex-Depot Petrol Price Rises To ₦‎490 Per Litre by Unaevince: 10:14am On Jun 21, 2023
Well in a deregulated PMS economy, prices are determined by Forex exchange. However, Nigeria system is skewed due to corruption, if you liberalize the licence for importation, some people through the contacts they have at the top will get the licence and be reselling at higher exorbitant prices as we saw in the past when rice was not being produced enough in Nigeria.

It will take some time for the system to normalize.

God bless Nigeria
