Police are, after the political class, the worst set of people in Nigeria.

You guys just like to act unprofessional.
Here in UK, police will never arrest any how, if UK police is looking for Mr A and meet his brother aT home, they will NEVER arrest anyone.
Nigerian police should learn how to act as professionals.

There is nothing wrong with a stop and search bt searching people's fones isn't right and illegal unless there is a search warrant.

Nigerian police takes us or keeps us at the stage of slavery /man stealing, where you catch a man from another tribe and sell him off for cash..

They catch people and tell them to bail themselves . Police reform is one of the biggest needs of this country if we are talking about real change.. Police are terrible here criminals with official power and zero shame/morals

Thia guy should not go and trigger another endsars with his unguarded tweets because police haven't changed their ways
Re: Police Brutality: Lawyer Replies SP Benjamin Hundeyin by Ivimmanuel: 9:14am On Jun 22, 2023
The truth is there's no way the Nigerian police would treat a case involving a Nigerian and he won't receive it as harassment but in most instances they'd only be doing their job. I remember ones when a riot happened a building was shattered and two officers of one of the security forces were injured when the police came they couldn't tell who was involved so they picked anyone they found around the scene. You couldn't tell who's involved or not.
The police need to find a more appealing approach in dealing with certain matters and the public informed of their rights.

Funking hypocritical and political police and pro.
When are they going to do stop and search in known political thugs' houses?
Only the powerless and cloutless they get a pair over.

There is an enormous difference. He only knows how to read and write.

SP Hundeyin and the chest beating Acting IGP... needs proper training on the job. I believe these stories sounds like ferry tales to them sometimes. It is possible for the OP to have stress Disorder for years to come to to this incident. I know of a little girl who had a rape attempt. Anytime a young man comes close to her, she becomes uneasy and sometimes faints.

My humble suggestion: any police that harrasses an innocent civilian should first be allowed to be given a GB, before orderly room trial. No be police men poor pass for Nigeria, just that that them corrupt pass! I can imagine a salaried officer demanding 100NGN from a self employed motorcyclist and still have the temerity to go mosque, church or sango shrine to pray!!! Tufiakwa aru.

Kindly remind of the name of that one that was Mr. Musilu Akinsayan aka MC Oluomo interpreter during the just concluded election..... We all have an idea how some folks got their job. Not to blame them much, country hard but at least make them try get shame small.

I disagree abit. I've had some stop and search and it was just checking my boot and papers. No issues.

However I know there maybe bad ones bt I believe how u approach an officers matters.

Once I was held for a tint permit back then and I went to their office and settled it.

Why would the police harass people for no reason? I think they are profiled by certain codes or they are in a crime zone.

The tweet by hundeyin was meant to justify police brutality and in the process launder their public image but with replies like this, it will destroy the police image in the eyes of Intl observers.

Sir I am very glad you mentioned that tint permit because I remember vividly some yrs ago my family was on our way to redeem camp for convention when we were stopped in our Siena some kilometres outside Kwara state airport road.

They asked for tint permit, and we told them this a factory tint not after market...their response was that are we telling them their job? when the federal government clearly says they can only ask for permit when it is not from the factory.

Don't even get me started on what they did to us that day....these people are heartless. They robbed us of N20,000 with tears in my mother's eyes and begging them because we were in the middle of nowhere they entered our car and said they would take us to the station and we both know that's a lie all us for disappear it's what they do on a daily basis.
So we had no choice but to part with our feeding money and we starved seriously for the next 1 week. In my life I will never forget my mother's tears on that express and one day I will get my pound of flesh from those demons God keeping us.

There are many more experiences with the legal armed robbers but it's best I don't start opening old wounds.
Don't ever in your life open your mouth to tell anyone police won't harass people for no reason sir.
Just ask around I believe 3 out of every 5 family in this country must have had a terrific experience with those demons in black.
#FUCKTHEPOLICE may terrible accidents continue to take their life for us.

I am currently at a state police HQ and I'm telling you because it hasn't affected you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. There are over 150million people in Nigeria and it's logical that not everyone will suffer this injustices.

My eyes have seen a lot that you won't even understand, just in front of me is a guy who has just been released to his wife and mother with his neighbors, they were arrested yesterday and released today without payment, now the questions you need to ask is why were the arrested? Don't you think it's odd that you'll just be arresting people randomly?

Some guys (butty type if you know what I mean), came to lodge, apparently they were going for a wedding and they deciding to sleep since it is late, my staff told them to go and withdraw cash from a nearby POS and two of them left while the other two stayed. Would you believe that those boys did not return till the next day and they slept in the cell? They Aunt that they would be visiting had to come to town to bail them free, the question, why were the arrested? What were they charged with?

That's an injustice because you can't even begin to imagine what an innocent person will suffer in prison just because police are raiding.

Observe people's grievance before always saying 'police has never harassed me before'. You are one of the lucky ones!
